[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

We had a rather successful day at the sheep dog trial. CBCR made right much money and we sold out of some things. The money will go toward helping rescue dogs of course.

I left home around 7:30 and got down there and set up by 9:30. It was windy as heck and cold early this morning. There were about six of us working the table. Business we good the first part of the morning. We took a lunch break and ate inside the camper of one of the volunteers. It was nice and warm and comfortable. After lunch the wind laid down and the sun made it rather pleasant for a short time. We did some more business early afternoon, but by 3:00 we had done about all we were going to do. The wind had picked back up too. So, we packed up and I got home right at 5:00 to make dinner.

Bob said Malcolm was pretty good, but he has back slid in his house training this week. He had gone in the house more than outside. He is not quite six months old yet, so I guess that will happen.

I sorted through all the merchandise and go another order ready. We have a big event coming up April 1 in Charlotte where the Triad 2000 flyball tournament will be held. We are selling stuff and providing the dinner for the handlers that night. We get to keep all the proceeds from ticket sales on the dinner.

Whew. Long day. I am ready to settle for the night. I taped a show in our local PBS station last night on the popularity of British Comedy on American TV. Think I will go watch it and sit and relax.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Today is catch up day. I will first get my house back in order. I can stand a little dust but clutter, dirty floors, and nasty bathrooms drive me to distraction. I don't know why, but once I have the house looking neat and clean I feel organized again. I also need to tackle my desk and office space.

I will watch the race today being run in Darlington, SC. I think rain is in the picture again. I have some magazines and journal reading to catch up on while the race is on.

The PBS special I taped was pretty good. Penelope Keith, one of my favorite British actresses, narrated a history of British comedies. Not only did they show excerpts from the various shows they also interviewed many of the actors and actresses and producers to talk about their parts or writing the scripts. I had seen all but one of the shows on our local station. One they left out that I wish they had covered was Dad's Army.

Work to do, so I better get started.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

If you suffer from insomnia or have trouble taking an afternoon nap, I have the perfect solution. Tape one of the NASCAR races, Texas, Darlington, Daytona. When you can't sleep just pop that tape in the player and you will be off to snooze land in an hour or less.

The race yesterday was another good one for the fans. It took almost thirty laps at the beginning before they could run two without a caution. Than, the guys that can really drive settled down for some good racing. Even though Ward Burton ran up front most of the day, there was good racing behind him. Now, back to the insomnia cure.

Bob had gone back to bed to read/nap, being exhausted from all the work he has put in on the book. The dogs were being good and I was stretched out on the sofa watching the race. Next thing I knew there was about 80 laps to go, Dale Jr. was talking to reporters in the garage after wrecking and Ward was still leading. The top five had changed and Bobby Labonte was missing a right fender.  I was glad to see Ward finally break through with another win and of the first five races this year, there have been five different winners.

Another nice sibling stepping out of the shadows break through yesterday. On the LPGA tour, Annika Sorenstam's younger sister, Charlotta, got her first win over the best on Tour Karrie Webb and Annika.  The three were tied for the lead going into the final round yesterday.

More rain today. We really need it. I am off to the gym for spinning class, then run some errands. The dogs go to the vet this afternoon. Duncan and Kerry for their annual checkup and shots, Duncan to get his stitches removed.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

All the dogs checked out fine at the vets. Malcolm has his stitches out. Kerry is fine except for being old, fat, and has bad hips. Duncan is a healthy middle age dog.

I have to take Tess, the rescue dog back to the vet this morning to get checked out. We have a family who is driving down from VA this weekend to adopt her.

I will work around here this afternoon so Bob can work without too many interruptions. IF the weather clears, I need to work in the yard.

Not much else going on.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Tess the rescue dog is fine and ready to be adopted. She has gained weight. Her coat is shiny and her heart rate is up. The family that is adopting her will get a very nice companion for their home.

I am off to the gym this morning and then over to my dad's to help him in the yard. I mowed my yard and edged yesterday afternoon.

I have a project to complete this afternoon and some other things to work on.

Busy day ahead. It is a nice day weather wise. I enjoy being outside.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I know everyone has had a day like I had yesterday. The game plan yesterday morning was to drop off the white Trooper for an oil change and tire rotation. Bring Bob home and off to the gym. Then on to my dad's. Mow his grass and then my sisters (she is working overtime this week and can't get to it, then back home to work.

HA, HA. The first part went as planned. But, when I got to my dads, I noticed a split in the left rear of the tire on the blue Trooper. I ran in and called the car repair place to make sure he had not rotated those tires yet. We had already decided later this year we would put new tires on my white Trooper and put the fairly new/old tires back on the blue one since it sits most of the time. I then called Bob to give him the heads up on the tire problem.

They were just starting but had run into a problem with the front wheel lug nuts. I told Tim ( car repair guy) the situation and tire plan and to order Dunlop tires.

Tim called Bob back at home to ask why we wanted Dunlop tires and to tell me he needed both cars at the shop to do the switch.  Bob and I both hate the Michelin Tire TV ad and refused to buy their tires and we saw in Consumer Reports Dunlop makes a good 4 X 4 tire. Tim recommended Michelin's, so we order those instead. Bob called me back at my moms to tell me about the two cars.

Dad followed me back across town so I could drop off the other Trooper and then back to his house. It is now 11:15. My mom fixed lunch. We then went over to mow my sister's yard.  Back to dads. Mowed his yard. We had to wait on their furnace repairman to show up at 2:30. He left at 3:30. Mom and dad drove me back to my house.

I jumped in the shower while Bob called to see about the status of the cars. They said, ready by five. Off go Dad, mom, me and Bob to pick up the two cars and then go out for dinner. We get to the shop to find my car still on the lift. New tires laying on the floor. They would have to pull the brake rotors off to get the studs off.

We went on to dinner and left the white car to be picked up tomorrow. I spent most of the evening catching up on mail, dog playtime for bored Border Collies, and watching one of my favorite shows on TV, West Wing.

Golf in the morning. Work tomorrow afternoon. Dinner out tomorrow night with friends. Tune in Friday to see if it really goes that way.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Blast from the past the other night. I forgot to mention while dinning out with my folks I saw my 4th grade teacher. She was one of my favorite teachers. My sister also had her for fourth grade.

Yesterday was a better day. I managed to get caught up around here and finished some projects. We had a very nice dinner with some friends at the Chinese restaurant last night.

Today I am volunteering at the library to help get the books ready for the Friends book sale in a couple of weeks. I will work at home this morning and head over there later.

We are having beautiful spring weather.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend where ever you may be reading this from.
