[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Malcolm had a rough day yesterday. For some reason he decided to push his place in the pack hierarchy with Duncan. They got into a couple of times and then had a real severe one late yesterday afternoon.  He just went after Duncan and Duncan chomped him right on the snout. Big gash, lots of blood and a huge bump are the results but he is okay. He looks like a fighter that lost his match in the ring.

Today Bob is helping me haul big trash to the street. Each year the city does bulky item pickup for every neighborhood. Ours is next week. It is the only time we can put out big items like carpet, appliances, etc or things that the regular weekly trash pick up will not take.

Then, I am going over to my folks house and visit with them. I have some things to take to my mom and I usually have lunch with them. I am not sure what I will work on this afternoon.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Marcia has posted two new recipes for me on the Netwidows Recipe Site. One  is for the famous Pennsylvania Dutch/Philly Steak sandwiches. the other is for my mom's wonderful pecan pie.  I never eat pecan pie or tarts anywhere except for my mom's. I just don't like the taste.

Big new project. The trip to PA has got me started on my genealogy stuff again. Yesterday when I went to folks they gave me their old photo albums of pictures from both their early years and some family pictures. The photo's are in good shape but the albums are pretty much deteriorated. I am going to sort them into the two families, moms and dads.

A lot of the photos are of friends of theirs which I will separate and make an album of those for them. I will take moms and dads pictures of them and their families and make two separate albums of those.

I have my pictures in an album that is still in very good shape, so I do not need to redo those right now. When I get the old pictures all organized I will add newspaper clippings and other documents that belonged to my parents with the pictures.

I can work on this here and there when I have some free time. I have an entire drawer full of stuff that is Bob's and his family that I guess I will get around to doing one day too.

Since I was gone last week, the house really needs a good cleaning today. Bob is doing the shower for me while I do my page for today. I did Lenore's area Thursday except for the kitchen counters. Bob can wipe those down good this morning while he is doing the laundry.

The race is not on until 4 o'clock today. They are running the road course in Sonoma. CA.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I have a new photos page up for my Fritchman genealogy. My cousin David scanned these for me from his collection. As I find new pictures or David sends me new ones, I will add them to the page.

I need to mow this afternoon and I go get a haircut this morning and run a few errands.

I have also put up a sample report  based on a hypothetical search request on my business pages for future clients to get an idea of the type of material I can provide.

This afternoon I need to get some more information up on my Technomayhem site and add to the pages that are live.

Bob is brining up Hardwareguys.com live today, I think.

Malcolm is going through the thieving off tables and counters stage. He is now tall enough to jump up with both front feet on my desk. When he does this he either types something for me on my keyboard ( that I don't want) or he knocks everything askew. We have coke cans with pennies in them sitting on counters and tables as traps. When he tries to steal something he alerts us by knocking over a can.

Just think of a two year old with four legs instead of two, six times as smart, and  twice as fast you have a nine month old Border Collie.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Still no pictures of the trip. Maybe Bob will have time today to scan them.

Roadrunner hit another pot hole. Our cable modem service was out again last night for about three hours. Since we signed up ten days ago, this is the third time we have been down.

We have a good rain last night Just over an inch. The storm wasn't too bad at least in our area. It poured down at first, which did not do a lot of good. The ground was so hard and dry it just ran off. But after the storm we have just a light to moderate rain that may have soaked in better.

The forecast is for more this afternoon and evening.

I mowed yesterday afternoon and then worked on web pages for Technomayhem. I hope to have those up this week.

I am off to the gym. Missed yesterday morning due to my haircut.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I just chose a few of the highlights from York, PA.  This one is inside the York Public Library. york-library.jpg (57272 bytes)

It is located downtown in the historical area. They received a grant from the Microsoft Foundation for the two rows of computers in the middle of the floor. I love to visit old libraries when I travel.

shoe-sign.jpg (41658 bytes) These pictures are from the Shoe House which is right outside the town of York, PA. My  mom saw the house on a show on TV about unique Bed and Breakfasts.  The old couple who run it rent it out as a B & B in the winter and as a tourist attraction in summer. They sell homemade ice cream and offer tours of the house. The couple are too old to keep it up and have it for sale.

The story behind the house is on the web page of Jarrettsville Elementary School. They created a page of interesting places to visit with your family and included the Shoe House. A map is included on the web page if you wish to visit. It is right off Route 30 outside York.

shoe-dog-house.jpg (49443 bytes) This is my dad standing beside the Shoe dog house. The entrance is in the back. A homeless person supposedly lived in that shoe all winter.

shoe-house.jpg (30154 bytes)  Dad is standing just to the left of the actual house. It has two bedrooms, bath, living room and kitchen. We did not tour the house. The ice cream and souvenirs are sold in the finished basement area.    shoe-window.jpg (41987 bytes)   All the windows are stain glass with a shoe in the middle.

Today is my errand day so to speak. After I return from the grocery store, I am meeting someone for lunch and then running a couple of errands on that side of town. I will work on some stuff this afternoon and then Bob and I will go out to dinner and the library.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Looks like the golf game is rained out this morning again. I will go to the gym and run the errands I did not run yesterday. We ended up meeting for lunch on this side of town so I just met for lunch and came back home.

I have a new mouse to drive. I am having trouble with my wrist and it is not from typing but from "mousing". I do a lot of cut and paste work for my web pages and scrolling down pages. Between my small hands and the small mouse, I was putting a lot of strain on my wrist. Bob gave me a larger mouse that is sloped rather than flat and the wheel works, which the other did not.

I finished reading Bill Bryson's In a Sunburned Country last night. I have a review of it on my favorites page if anyone is interested. I am still wading through WWII with Solzhenitsyn's November 1916. Only 400 pages left. I started a small book while I was in PA that I will now finish. The Boat That Wouldn't Float by Farley Mowat. He is another rather humorous writer of the tales of adventure.

We had a heck of a storm last night. We were on the way back from the Rural Hall Library to eat dinner when it hit. It poured really hard while we were in the restaurant. By the time we left to come home it had slowed down a lot.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I bought a new lamp for my office yesterday. The one I was using is one that I had bought when I had my first apartment. It had started blinking and smelling when I left it on for long periods of time.

Anyway. I bought one of those new daylight florescent lamps call Ott-Lite. I looks like a combination of piano lamp and goose neck lamp. The little double florescent tube lights the computer and work surface with more of a daylight glow and reduces glare. It takes some getting used to but I like to so far.

I guess if you suffered from that winter malady from not enough sunlight this would serve that purpose as well.

I have some pictures of Malcolm and Duncan playing in the house last night on my border collie page. Malcolm has this funny habit about playing. He always has to have a toy in his mouth. He can pick up two or three things at one time. He will drop one to let you throw it but he chases around with the other one in his mouth.

Not sure what I am going to do today. I am meeting at 11:00 with two others from CBCR to outline some plans for the summer and fall.

Wimbledon tennis is on all afternoon  and the golf is this afternoon. If Bob does the backup, I can't do computer work anyway. It is a good time to get caught up on reading and projects I can do while sitting in the den.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend where ever you are. I guess with the 4th of July on Tuesday, a lot of people will be off either Monday or all week.
