[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Update on the Syroids and Landon. Tom has put some cute pictures up and although it is still a long road ahead, things seem to be improving day by day.

Interesting article on Entrepreneur.com about why so many people are leaving the work force to work for themselves. I also discovered that Enya has a new CD out or coming out called A day Without Rain which I shall have to add to my collection.

I have a review on my favorites page about this wonderful novel I am reading based on the events leading up to the Johnstown, PA flood of 1889. In Sunlight, In a Beautiful Garden is the title.

Yesterday

After getting the house cleaned, showered and lunch, I work on some things at the computer for awhile. Then I hit the couch to read and watch the final round of the golf tournament.

We usually take the dogs out for a little exercise and constitutional about every three hours or so when we are home. Because of traffic and people, I usually take Malcolm on the leash and let Duncan roar out the door to chase squirrels. I still always check first before I open the door to make sure there are not cars coming. Kerry ambles out the door at about the rate of a high speed moving turtle. At any rate, Duncan spots a squirrel across the street and takes off. The squirrel must not have realized he was coming because by the time he got to the tree so had Duncan. I swear I saw Duncan kick that squirrel when Duncan slid in the leaves to put on the brakes as the squirrel leapt onto the tree to scamper to safety. Imagine the story that squirrel had to tell his wife and kids when he got back to the nest.

Today

I have a dentist appointment this morning at 8:45. Afterward I need to stop at the mall since I will be right there and then get home in time to take Lenore to the doctor at 1:00. Needless to say, most of the day will be shot by the time I get home.

Happy Monday everybody.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

First of all, take time to look at the pictures from Brian and Marcia's trip to Yosemite this past weekend. They both have lots of pictures to look at so visit those pages when you have time to really enjoy the scenery.

Yesterday

The dentist visit went fine. I had my teeth cleaned and there are no major problems to report at this time. I then headed to the mall for a couple of items. In the bookstore I found a really nice book of dog quotes and a new dog care manual plus the 2001 NASCAR Media guide for the new racing season. I actually went in there to buy my mom's birthday present. I had to stop in Sears to pick up vacuum cleaner bags and made a few other purchases in a couple of other stores before heading back home. After quickly doing a mail check and reading some diary pages I ate a snack lunch and then got Lenore ready for her doctor's visit.

She is fine and after getting her ears washed has vowed she can now hear better. We stopped at the bank, gas station, and drug store on the way home. I spent the remainder of the afternoon catching up on web pages, etc and doing some desk organizing. I spent the evening reading the dog books I picked up at the store.

Today

Home all day. I have bills to pay, web site stuff to do, etc, etc. I am going to spinning class tonight rather than the gym this morning. We will have an early dinner and I can get to the gym before class and do some weight work first.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Yesterday

Not really much to say about the day. I worked most of the day except for dog breaks. We had an early dinner of steak sandwiches  and then I headed off to the gym for spinning class. I got there early enough to do some weight work. After the gym I stopped at the drugstore to pick up Lenore's prescription and some other stuff I needed to pick up.

Today

Well, I actually wrote this last night. I am up supposed to be up early and off to pick up my parents by 8:30 for out drive down to Rocky Mount. We will be meeting some distant relations on the Callahan  side of the family. The weather is supposed to be warm and sunny. More on the trip on Thursday.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Welcome back Leah. We all hope things continue to progress as well as they have been. Keri, welcome back too, while trying to get settled from your move.

Yesterday

We had a very nice trip down to the eastern part of the state to visit some newly discovered members of the Callahan clan who live in Rocky Mount. We left Winston right at 8:30 and arrived at their house at 11:15. We had a very nice visit exchanging family tree information and chatting about various other subjects. They live in the historic district of the city in a house built in the early 1920's. They are still working on the house but for the most part the inside had been beautifully restored.

We left their house around 4:00 for the drive back. The traffic through Raleigh at rush hour was really not too bad. We stopped around 6:00 in Burlington for dinner. After dropping off mom and dad at home I got back here right at 8:00 pm just as I had predicted. After quickly scanning personal e-mails for anything that needed immediate attention, I caught up on diary pages for the day and sorted out list serve mail, etc. While we watched West Wing, I played with the dogs, who are always very glad to see me when I have been gone.

Today

I have right much I want to get done today. This morning I am off to the gym and grocery shopping. When I get back I want to wash the car and then water in the seed on the front lawn and the sewer repair area. We have not had any rain to speak of since I did the seeding. It is to be close to 70 degrees F. (arghhhhh). Much too warm for winter temperatures to suit me but it will good for the seed I am trying to get to grow.

I have a lot of e-mails to catch up on from my lists after I finish the outdoor stuff. Late this afternoon I have Friends of the Library meeting at Reynolda at 4:00. Bob will go along and sit and read for an hour while I am in my meeting after which we can go across the street and eat dinner at the Rose and Thistle.

Lots to do so I best get started.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Yesterday

I spend most of yesterday getting caught up from being gone on Wednesday. After the store and gym I did come home and wash the car and gave the seeded areas of the lawn a good watering. No rain in sight at this point. Things are getting a bit dry with forest fires already becoming a problem in the mountains.

I did manage to get all the list mail and web pages read yesterday afternoon. Bob and I left around 3:45 to go to the library. Our Friends meeting ran until about 5:15. By the time we got our books checked out and to the restaurant to eat it was 5:30. We brought Lenore back a sandwich. I played with the dogs since Malcolm had been in his crate during the 3 hours we were gone. We watched ER at 10:00 and then off to bed.

Today

I failed to pick up a couple things at the store that we needed yesterday so I am off to the gym this morning followed by running a few errands. This afternoon I want to get started on sorting through the various family history materials that Nelson gave me Wednesday. That, along with a few other continuing projects should keep me busy and out of trouble for the remainder of the day.

I have posted a brief review of the other travel book I started this week, Bella Tuscany by Frances Mayes. I have gone from France to Italy. Her style is very different from Peter Mayle, but very enjoyable. While I was waiting on ER to start last night I began reading the dog quote book I bought at the mall. Needless to say you will be seeing my favorite ones appear on my diary pages in the coming weeks. I like "food for thought" and enjoy posting quotes from time to time.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. The NASCAR Winston Cup season kicks off Sunday with a short race featuring all the pole winners from last year. Here is the full race schedule for the year if you are interested. I will also this weeks golf action still out on the left coast, the Buick Classic and work in between.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Yesterday

Things went pretty much according to plan with errands and work stuff. Last night we watched the two hour Bramwell that we taped last Sunday and I watched my tape of Once and Again from Wednesday night. I did get a chance to start working on my family genealogy stuff. I may be able to do some searching on the Internet but I definitely need to make a trip to the library and the North Carolina Room genealogy collection.

Today

I am not sure what I will do today. Read, work, watch some golf, etc. Tune in tomorrow for a full report!

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Yesterday

For some reason I was tired and sleepy despite the fact that I slept in until 8:00 am. After doing web page and mail stuff I went over to my folks house to deliver something I had for them. Dad was out raking the the yard, so I pitched in and helped him finish his job. We then put out some seed and fertilizer in an area in the back yard that he is having trouble getting some grass to grow,

After we finished that mom made lunch and I sat and visited with them for awhile. Back home, I took my shower and then hit the couch for a nap to see if I could get caught up on some sleep. After the nap and playing with the dogs, I watched the golf tournament and then fixed dinner. We had pork tenderloins and green beans. We watched our Buffy/Angel show last night that we taped and then I did some searching on the Internet for the family history.

Today

House cleaning this morning while Bob does the laundry. This afternoon is "gentlemen start you engines" as the 2001 Winston Cup race season gets underway. I mentioned Friday that today is just a short 75 mile lap race featuring the winners of last years pole position. The ARCA race that follows included three or four of the children of the NASCAR guys so I may watch a little of it and the final round of the Buick Invitational is on at 3:15. Sounds like a couch potato but while I watch TV I also play with the dogs and usually read magazines.
