[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Last night we watched a great movie, The Madness of King George  staring Nigel Hawthorn as Crazy King George III and Helen Mirren as Queen Charlotte. Hawthorn has always been one of our favorite actors since we saw him in the Yes, Prime Minister series in the mid-80's. It was interesting to see Mirren as someone other than the hard core detective in Prime Suspect.

I also finished up the B&B mystery when I went to bed to read. Tonight I shall start another Alpine mystery but right now Bob and I are in the middle of watching another Peter Whimsey we started while eating dinner.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Greetings on this wonderful Tuesday. Work is of course running much smoother, so far anyway, with Jackie back. We are very busy work on various projects along with the daily demands of file retrievals.

Over night we had a very quiet 1 1/2 inches of rain. I did not hear it rain at all during the night and I very rarely sleep all night so it must have been a steady drizzle/light rain. It was still drizzling when I went with the dogs first time this morning to get the paper. We needed the rain as things had started to get a little dry.

I did make it to the gym tonight for a brief workout on the cardio machines followed by some weight work. Last night I was still pretty tired from Sunday's marathon day in the yard.

Which reminds me, I talked with my dad last night and the doctor has turned him loose to got back to doing his regular daily activities. His vision has improved greatly since last week. He is now driving and can play golf this weekend, weather permitting.

Guess that's about all we have going on here. The dogs are doing good. Duncan has slowed down some but still is very active for a 10 1/2 year old dog.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

After the 1 1/2 of rain that fell Monday night we received an additional 3 1/2 inches last night from storms that rumbled through from around 10 pm to about 1 am this morning. We had the usual dog antics with Malcolm barking and pacing and Duncan being just scared to death. That combined with house shaking thunder and lightening that lit up the room Bob nor I had much sleep. It had started to pour down rain while I was still awake reading. The worst of the storms moved in just after midnight.

It was a very busy day at work and by 4:45 I had completely run out of gas. I made a quick grocery store run on the way home.

Otherwise not much else going on for now.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Have you ever had one of those days when work was the last place you wanted to be? It does not happen to me very often and has nothing to do with the job or the Firm. I just did not want to be at work today. But, I made it through anyway getting a lot done as usual. I guess Friday came one day too late for me this week but I was certainly very happy when 5 pm finally rolled around.

I got the mowing out of the way when I came home. I can edge and do other little outdoor chores tomorrow or Sunday.

Last night I sat up reading until I finished Alpine Idol. Today at lunch I started the most recent Nancy Martin mystery.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I thought I wrote something for yesterday but apparently was so busy I guess I forgot. After morning spin class I made a stop at the drug store and grocery store.

After doing the house cleaning I fixed lunch and relaxed a while before taking the vacuum downstairs to give it a good cleaning. After I finished up down stairs I took the dogs down to play at Mimi's for awhile.

At some point I know I checked my e-mail, cleaned off my desk and balanced the check book either before or after my shower, can't remember. I had some additional odds and ends to do then watched the PGA tournament before starting dinner. While we ate dinner we watched an Upstairs/Downstairs. After dinner we watched another episode then it was off to bed to read.

Dad and I played 9 holes this morning. As we prepared to turn the side and go to the back several groups were just going off. I suggested we go ahead home so I could get some more of the weeding done and give me a chance to get back home early rather than later this afternoon.

Paul and Mary are coming over for dinner tonight. I have a few things I need to get done in the interrium plus read the paper and watch the final round of golf.
