[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Monday, Monday. A few more projects assigned today, thankfully I can do these in Excel. The front came through bringing us some cooler temperatures and a nasty thunderstorm about five minutes before I was ready to leave work. With the wind, slashing rain, thunder and lightening, I hung around a few minutes. By the time I got down to the front of the building the sun was shining.

Bob is getting better. He can take Malcolm out using his walker and is still using it for balance around the house.

I ran by the house to check on dad and have dinner with him.

We are watching more Deadwood's.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Cool this morning with a pretty good breeze. I actually had to wear my lightweight jacket this morning. I can't say I missed that nasty wind that blows down fourth street as I try to walk up the hill.

It had warmed up nicely by the time I left work. I wear shorts at the gym year round but change into sweats during the cold weather. It was not cold enough for me to have to change out of my shorts. I am enjoying the cooler weather being as hot natured as I am.

We are trying out the pilot episode of Waking the Dead, a British crime drama featuring a Cold Case Team of investigators.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Lunch with my friend Marcy today. It was a bit cool and windy for eating outside. But, by late this afternoon it had warmed up quit a bit.

I left work at 4pm to get the new lenses for my frames. Now I start the "getting used to new glasses" routine all over again. The right eye was only strengthened a fraction but the left is one they increased the power in by a factor of three.

From there I picked dad up at home to go grab a bite to eat and take him to the grocery store. I picked a few things we needed while I was there.

I finished the Ali Reynolds last night. Tonight I am picking up the first book from a new series for me by Margaret Maron. A month or so ago a lady at work gave me eight of her Deborah Knot series in hardback she had purchased which Maron started writing in 1992. A native of North Carolina, I have heard her speak at several library conferences during my librarian days. As you know I read very little souther/author fiction so I had never tried her. While Bob was recovering from his vertigo he needed hardback books to read. I had bought the first book in the series at the used bookstore, a paperback, to give the series a try. I gave him the first book we had in hardback which is about the fourth or fifth book in the series.

I will read the paperback then order the next ones from the library for both him and me until I catch up to the ones we have. I am not one for reading two or three in a row of the same series. I like to jump around between series and/or books. The library should have the early ones in the series since she is from NC.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Last night I picked dad up after work to go out to eat. Mom and Frances will be home this afternoon. Dad did very well staying by himself.

House cleaning this morning while Bob did the laundry. He has graduated from the walker to Lenore's four footed cane.

I've worked on the pile of stuff on my desk, reserved some more books from the library, and caught up on some filing. I just finished ironing another laundry basket full of my work pants and shirts.

It is a lovely fall day. Temperatures are in the mid 70's, slight breeze, clear blue skies and lot of sunshine.

We've been watching the last episodes of Deadwood. The first episode of Waking the Dead was much better than the pilot. I guess we will try some more.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Yard day today. I planted some fall bulbs I ordered back in the spring then started on the leaves. I blew the ones in the natural area by our bedroom window and the driveway onto the driveway. It makes it easier to vacuum them up. Same thing in the back. I swept several inches of leaves from the deck, moved them to the driveway and vacuumed those up.

When I went down to start the outdoor projects I put the sheets in to wash and started the freezer in the small refrigerator beside the washing and dryer defrosting.

After a lunch/break I finished up a few other tasks before mowing. Malcolm had a great time running around while I was planting the bulbs and manually moving the leaves. Once I started the lawn vacuum he has to come in and also when I mow. I had finished mowing and started brining things back into the basement when he started howling for me showing his displeasure at being inside while I was outside.

It is another really nice day, cool and breezy. But, things are dry again. I sent up clouds of dust when I mowed over the areas of the lawn not recovered from the drought.
