[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Paul and Mary picked us up at yesterday for another Costco trip. It turns out I had forgotten to pick up a couple of things. While they shopped I cruised parts of the store I never have time to look because I am doing my shopping. We also ran into my folks and Frances and Al. Frances and Al had done the same thing we had, except they had gone yesterday morning then went back to take the folks. From Costco we went on to dinner.

By the time we got home it was  a  little cooler than it was in the afternoon though the humidity was still about 50%. While Bob fed and walked Malcolom I mowed the lawn.

Today, we finally got some much needed rain. Even at 3/4 of inch that was enough to setttle the dust and wash more of the pollen away.

I finished reading the Diana Killian. Even though I have library books waiting to be read I wanted to pick up another Margaret Maron from my TBR pile to see what Deborah Knott was up to. In High Country Fall, Deborah is filling in for a judge in a small mountain town just in time to hear a high profile murder case and a chance to get away from her hometown where she is having second thoughts about the upcoming nuptials to her old friend Dwight.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

So far this week it has been steady but not crazy busy like it had been the last few weeks. Off to the Y after work. It has turned warm again with high's today getting up into the 80's. I took a quick walk around the building yesterday after I ate lunch. Today I walked across the street to the bank and to grab some lunch in the cafeteria.

Scott's Lawn came today to put down the spring Weed-B-Gone. The grass was not really high enough to mow again tonight. With the warmer weather and not as much rain the rapid growth rate has slowed down a little.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

The busy weekend last week plus my normal busy week finally caught up with me today. It was a stuggle this morning but I managed to make it through the day. For some reason I was not only physically tired but mentally too. It was another very warm day. We need rain. The heat and wind are drying things out. We have a cold front coming through tomorrow bringing the highs back down to the 60's and 70's. Usually that kind of front brings severe thunderstorms along with it. Instead, we are just getting the wind.

I am reading the most recent Dalziel and Pascoe by Reginald Hill, Midnight Fugue.

We've been watching Madmen and Sopranos. I love the new TV. I can't wait until we get the PC built to hook up to it.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

This morning I woke up at 7:30, went back to sleep, woke up at 8:30, went back to sleep, woke up 9:30...decided it was time to get up.

After reading the paper and eating breakfast I took off to Target. I needed to pick up some things including a baby gift. Target is closer then Wal-Mart. From there on to the plant store to pick up some liriope and a plant for mom. I bought ten nice sized liriope plants. I was digging it up from another area and transplanting it but it is really hard to dig up especially as dry as the ground is. We really need rain. Red, North Carolina clay turns to cement when the ground gets dried out.

I put the liriope in the ground then too a break before mowing and edging the lawn. I took the bagger off today to see how it would mulch. Again, the dry weather has also dried out the sap in the spring grass making it mulch without clogging. I watered all the new stuff. The ground cover I put in couple of weeks ago has little flowers on it now.
I will just keep adding stuff until it gets fully covered. I watered the pansies in the front. They will need to come out in a few weeks.

Bob has been doing laundry all day. I stripped bed of the sheets and had Bob wash the blanket and mattress cover. The blanket goes away for the summer. Time to rest awhile before putting the bed back together.  Steaks and chicken on the grill for an easy dinner.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Happy Mother's Day to my mom. And really nice day it is if you do not have plans to go swimming outdoors. Clear skies, cool temperatures, and 10 to 20 mph winds.

I caught up my ironing this morning then did the weekly house cleaning chores. After lunch Malcolm and I got outside to do some more work in the yard. I dug up some bulbs I had in a front bed and moved them to the back. They grew too tall for where I had them. I loaded the yard cart with some of the smaller stuff from the tree cutting then hauled two more wheel barrow loads to the curb adding more to the existing pile. Hopefully they will come pick up this week. There is still a lot of branches and small stuff to haul and get up. I'll we working on that for awhile.

Later this afternoon I will go over to pick up the folks to meet Al and Frances for dinner at the Chinese restaurant.
