[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Happy Monday. Mine was pretty busy. I left work around mid-morning to go for my first ever visit with a dermatologist. Early in the summer I developed a small rash on the side of my leg I wear my brace on. I tried an assortment of topical treatments. Not only did it not want to go away it spread down the side of my leg about about two inches. Since I had been putting off making an appointment to have some moles checked the rash forced my hand. I chose a doctor that one of my co-workers spoke highly of.

I was in and out of there in half an hour minus a few skin tags and moles. The doctor and the PA went right to work numbing, cutting, and cauterizing; one on my right and one on my left. Very impressive to see them work. The PA gave me several tubes of cream samples for my leg plus a prescription. She also suggested of an over the counter topical cream/gel that I can apply to my leg  to help the moisture problem I have from sweating so much under the brace pads.

I was back at work by lunch time sporting several band-aids and funny looking splotches on my neck. The PA said it was okay for me to go to the Y but warned me about some of the places might sting a little.

I spent the afternoon working on two projects simultaneously finally finishing one up by 5pm. There is mountain of piled up work I hope to get through at least part of tomorrow.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I met Nancy and Betsy for dinner last night at Mozelle's. Since it's located downtown it took me all of ten minutes to get there. I sat at one of their outside tables reading and enjoying a glass of wine while I waited for them to arrive.

This afternoon we took Malcolm to the vet to follow up on his UTI. He seems to be better but is still leaving small puddles on the floor after lying down for awhile. Bob has been wanting to start taking Malcolm back to our orginal vet, Sue. She sold her half of the practice back in the mid-90's but we stayed there because we also liked some of other vets in her practice.  We eventually became unhappy with them about the time Eric opened an office just around the corner.

When Sue sold her practice she had a non-compete clause requiring her to work outside a certain mile radius of her old practice which put her about 25 minutes away from us in nearby Clemmons so we just stayed with the new vet around the corner. However, I have called Sue several times after we started going to Eric to get second opinions. We always thanked her for her services by taking her out to dinner. Long story short we are now back with Dr. Sue. Malcolm, who barks a lot in the car, behaved better than we thought for the ride out and back. We are going to keep him on the antibiotics Bob started him on Labor Day weekend and see how he does in the next ten days.

I am reading the last book of the P.T. Deutermann, Cam Richter series, Nightwalkers. I hope he plans to write more in this series.

The weather continues to be warm and dry both from lack of rain and humidity.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I had several errands to run this morning. It's a beautiful day. Clear blue skies, a nice breeze, and low humidty with temperatures in the mid-80's.

This afernoon I started on my lawn thatching project. Using a thatching rake I did the lawn on one side of the sidewalk raking toward the street. It took over two hours with lots of rest breaks. At about halfway through I had to pick up the large row of dead grass before I finally made it to the curb with the second row.  That side  filled the yard cart up. We have not had any substantial rain for at least six to eight weeks. The yard is pretty much dead and burned up in the front where I don't have as much shade. The back looks a little better except where I have the wash problem. I'm still working on that but it's too dry to plant anything right now. And, no rain in sight.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

This morning I finished thatching the other side of the yard. Since the yard cart is full I hauled the dead grass in wheel barrow loads down to the back corner where I dump leaves and grass. I have  probably mentioned this before; I have a sink hole problem back in that corner. So far, filling it with yard waste has kept it filled. At some point I need to do the back yard.
