[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I am reading the new Jacqueline Winspear, A Lesson In Secrets. This series has really grown since her first book; this is her eighth in the series. Winspear has matured Maisie in her life and work with each book. She writes well and I love her historical background she ties to the various story lines. Her books are set just after WWI in the early to mid 1920's in and arond London.

It was a rather quiet and mundane Monday work day. We are watching Numb3rs on ROKU. I had head about the show but was not sure if Bob or I would like it. It stars Rob Morrow from Northern Exposure. If the science and/or the math is really bad Bob would not like it. I don't mind the science part and I can get some of the basic math/logic stuff. It is sort of like going to dinner with Paul and Mary. They and Bob get to talking about a deep scientific subject and I just sit there opening my mouth only to put food instead of my foot. The storylines and acting are pretty good.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Meet Colin. He is nine weeks old and came from a litter of nine both black and white and red and white. We got him last night from a lady here in Winston. His dad is a pretty big red and white rough coat out of Caroline Hemric's line where we got Malcolm and Duncan. The mom, a smooth coat, was pretty large for a female.

He napped once we got him home while I went to the pet store to pick up puppy food and a puppy collar. I had a puppy leash left over from my CBCR days.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Colin finally settle down last night after Bob went down on a pallet to sleep with him on the floor. He slept all night but boy is he active. He is into everything. No Y this week with the new fellow in the house. I did have to mow again tonight. Our neighbors down the street had lent us a puppy pen. Colin cries right now when we try to pen him up even if we are in the same room. We will teach him about being in his crate and the baby pen as he gets older.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Needless to say it's been a little busy around here with our new addition. He is keeping Bob pretty busy during the day while I am at work I would have loved to have taken off this week and stayed home to help but I am buried in work right now. Most of the support staff and a lot of the attorneys took yesterday as a PDO since we were not closed. I did not want to use one of my PDO's and Bonnie was coming downtown to have lunch with me so I had already decided to work even before we got Colin. My orginal plan had been to work until around 2 and take the rest of the day but Thursday morning 5000 pages of documents landed on my desk to be bates labeled. I was supposed to get as much done by yesterday afternoon to send them out but the attorney decided to see how much I could get done by Monday. I worked on this all day Thursday and yesterday until I left at 4 so we could take Colin for his first vet appointment.

Sue checked him out and gave him his next round of shots reporting we had a healthy thriving little puppy.

My now annual bronchitis/asthma started rearing its ugle head last weekend and got progressively worse during eh week. I guess I should have made a doctor appointment for yesterday but I have just been too busy. This morning I asked Bob if he had something on hand he could give me to fight it off this weekend. Later this afternoon I am picking up Frances and the folks to go to the Dash, our minor league baseball team, game. Mom and dad received four tickets to eight different games spread out over the summer for their volunteer efforts over the last thirty years. Tonight will be a double header due to last night's game being rained out. It was cold and rainy all day yesterday and last night.

Colin knows his name now. He hates the leash but we are trying to teach him to walk on it when we have him out so we can keep him from running away and out into the street. He is a sweet natured, energetic little fellow. He has a had a few inside accidents but I think those are due to us missing his signals to go out. He is sleeping all night. As with most pups he has two speeds, on and off.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Happy Easter. It's a warm, sunny day. I've had Colin outside meeting neighbors and running around on the extendible roller leash. He is learning to play with his toys by himself. He has also learned to bring them to us while we are sitting on the sofa, drop them, and wait for us to throw it again.

Bob now has his office puppy proof. He kept him in there this morning while I cleaned house and caught up on my ironing. We had to take all the throw rugs up because Colin likes to pull them around the house and chew on them. Without rugs at the front door and in the foyer to wipe our feet we've tracked maple seeds all over the house from our shoes. I swept them off the porch and walkway as best I could this morning before I vacuumed.

Yesterday afternoon just as I pulled into Frances driveway to pick her up smoke starting billowing out from under the hood of my car. I had been smelling a burnt oil smell for a few days but thought it was just the usual oil leak smell. It was leaking oil all over her driveway. I pulled it back onto the street and called Bob. He took care of getting it towed from Frances' to Merchants since we were on the way to the ballgame. She drove her car to pick up the folks and to the game.

We had a great time at the game. The seats are on row three right off third base. The Dash lost the first game but won the second of their double header. Frances brought me home then took mom and dad home.
