A warm and sunny day with temperatures in the mid 70’s and breezy. At least the winds have calmed down from the last three days.
I went to the gym then from there drove over to West Jefferson to the plant store I like. I wanted to get there early before things get picked over for Mother’s Day. I found most of the things I was looking for. From there it was quick ride over to Lowe’s to pick up something I forgot the other day. We are still not out of the woods for some chillier weather so the plants will live in the garage for another week or so. I can start putting plants in the hanging baskets and pots while they are in the garage and then move them.
I came home and fixed some lunch and then started on the weeding. Cold weather does not stop some type of ground covering grass that grows everywhere I do not want it. I managed to get another hour and half of work done before calling it a day.
A nasty weather day. It has rained all day with off and on squalls of pouring rain that came down slanted in one direction or the other and sometime completely horizontal. So far around two inches here at the house.
I went to the gym then back to town to work at the bookstore. Our Thursday person that volunteers with Joyce is out sick. So, with the nasty weather we only had a few customers and another day of low sales. But, we were there for those few that came in. We organized shelves and I processed one little donation.
We are under wind advisory for tonight. No storms yet but we may get some before the night is over.
36 degrees this morning and snowing like a blizzard. The ground was too warm for it to stick.
George showed up around 9 to finished hooking up the plumbing under the sink.
After he left I headed for Winston. I had a couple of errands to run before meet the girls from the Firm for lunch at Salt and Sage. It was warm and sunny down the mountain though breezy.
Up here; highs are in the upper 30’s with 20 to 25 mph winds making it feel like the upper 20’s.
Rain early this morning and then some off and on showers mid morning. We did not get the storms that had been predicted. The winds have picked up this afternoon with 20 plus mph gusts. Temperatures have been falling all day from upper 60’s down into the 50’s and will continue to drop.
A busy day at the store. Almost made $100.00. I had to leave midday to come home and so George could come back and hook up the plumbing under the sink and the feed for the gas cook top. They counter folks only install the counters and put in the sink.
While he worked on that I cleaned the counters then started putting the stuff back. The new sink required a longer pipe and he did not have one. He as to come back to do that and do a couple of other things. No problem, I have been using the sink in the laundry room, which is off the kitchen, for water.
I went back to the store to finished out the day then stopped by the library on the way home to checkout and return some books.
