Yesterday afternoon Mr. Wyatt delivered about a yard and half of fill dirt. This morning I was outside at 9am getting the weed fabric down along both sides of the driveway. No easy feat with temperatures at 30 degrees and winds blowing at 20mph. I finished up a little after 10. While I was finishing up one side Bob came out and threw shovel’s of dirt along the plastic to help hold it in place. Even with it pinned down it was still blowing.
Frances and Al arrived about 10:30. I shoveled dirt at the upper end from the dirt pile while Al used the wheel barrow to dump loads at the end near the house and the other side of the drive. While he finished moving the dirt I started spreading it with the dirt rake. We had all the dirt in place by mid afternoon. It will settle over the winter and next spring I will top it out with a layer of mulch.
