A little excitement on the way to the gym this morning. Our road has a big right hand curve where it stops to intersect with hwy 21 just past our house. Coming down 21 from town you have to either make the turn left on the shoulder or swing wide then back right to keep from going into the the outbound traffic. Just as I was pulling up the stop sign I saw the car coming at me head on as he was trying to turn in. At the last minute he turned back left to go straight and missed me. Another foot and he would have missed the stop sign pole. It was an elderly gentleman with a flag decorated cane in his mid to late 70’s. Once I made sure he was okay I called Bob then called 911. Bob walked up to stand with me until the state trooper arrived. We stood there talking, he telling us about leaving Sparta at age 17 and returning at age 38 after having served in both Korea and Nam. Once the trooper arrived I went on the gym. Thankfully, he only banged up the fender of his car.

Shaw Brothers came this afternoon to fix a drip in one of the water supply pipes to the hot water heater. Bob discovered it Friday when he went to change to the water filter.
