I left this morning around 8 am to volunteer with the Friends of Blue Ridge Parkway. Today was a volunteer workday all the way up and down the Parkway, not just our section. Each section of the Parkway has a chapter responsible for a stretch of the Parkway. Today we cleaned up the tent and RV camping areas at Doughton Park. The local chapter here is chaired by one of our Friends of the Library and store volunteers. During the summer they do trash pickup and other stuff along our section of the Parkway between highway 21 and highway 18.

Thankfully we had a nice, sunny, warm day to be outside. Frances and Al came up around midday to let Colin out so I would not have to rush back this afternoon.
