[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Finally, the pictures are up from our trip to New Hampshire and our stop in New Jersey to visit Caroline at Princeton. Bob has been busy all week and took time out yesterday to move them from the digital camera to the PC. I still have a few pictures left to take on the 35mm. When I get those processed I will post those too.

Unfortunately, I did not write down the exact names of the buildings on the campus and cannot remember all of them.

I got a lot done yesterday. I did wash the car, cleaned out the bird feeder and washed the windows inside and out overlooking the deck. And, I got most of my office cleaned up. I still have a little bit left to do. When we moved Lenore up right before I left to go to Canada, I just dumped a lot of the stuff from her room in my office. I had not had time to get it sorted and stored. Things look much better now and I can finish that up tomorrow when I clean house.

I also worked on the gas grill. One side would not light, which usually means spider webs have clogged the holes. Bob helped me dismantle it and I cleaned the tubes and little hole very good. So, I thought. I reassembled it by myself and test lighted it and it seemed to be fine.

Last night when I went to light it to fix dinner it would not light again. And, the other side that does light, did not seem to be working very well. I managed to get the steaks and chicken cooked with the little amount of flame I had to work with.

Today, I will disassemble it again to see what is going on. I will find the instruction booklet and see what it says. Bob said he would blow out the gutters and put the plastic covers on the roof air vents for the winter.

The mysterious smell in Lenore's room is still with us. We have removed the TV, the stereo, and the VCR and it is not one of those. I replaced both lamps. Today or tomorrow I am going to roll her out to the den in her wheelchair and dismantle that room until I find it.

I am doing a spinning class this morning. They have started a Saturday morning class which is really a better day for me than the evening classes.

I signed up for the 3 to 5 shift at the library book sale this afternoon.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

My apologies if you tried to access the New Hampshire trip page and could not make the connection. I did not have time to check my mail until I got back from the gym, which was almost noon. Marcia alerted me to the problem and we fixed it and Bob republished.

Preliminary sales of PC Hardware in a Nutshell are looking good at this point. Bob is pleased, so things must be going according to plan.

I did shoot the remaining film yesterday from the trip and will drop it off to be processed Monday morning.

This is house cleaning morning followed by watching the race this afternoon. The Winston 500 is from one of the most dangerous tracks on the circuit, Talladega in Alabama. NASACAR is again up to its old tricks making a rules change yesterday afternoon after qualifying and practice. It seems to me if they would just leave things alone and let the cars run as they are, there would not be as many problems or accidents. In trying to make the cars fit whatever NASCAR got out of bed with that day, creates too many teams trying to put a car on the track that cannot be driven worth a shit and they end up wrecking anyway. In my humble opinion, it seems to me that NASCAR is ruining racing with their need to control things and keep that money pumping into the France family coffers.

Busy day yesterday. After I got back from my spinning class, I fixed lunch. We then blew out the gutters and I got some of the leaves blown off the drive and sidewalk. We took the grill apart, rechecked all the fittings for clogs and put it back together and it works fine.

While we outside doing all that, Duncan barfed all over the sofa and rug, so I had to clean that mess up. We put the storm windows back in the downstairs window. By that time it was 2:00. I took a shower and headed over to the library to man the book sale room. I took in about $60 in two hours. Today is the last day. I am not sure how much money has been taken in so far. Guess I will find out Monday when I go in to help break everything down.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I enjoyed the race yesterday. A lot lead changes and good racing. We had homemade pizza for dinner and sat around reading and relaxing most of last night.

I am off to the gym this morning and then to the library to help clean up the remains of the book sale. Bob has a dental appointment first thing this morning.

Not sure what I will be doing this afternoon. Fletcher Barker, a friend of mine from the CBCR rescue days is coming up today and should be here this afternoon. He is coming up to play golf tomorrow with me and dad. He has a small camper he drives around all over the place and will just park out front of the house. I am sure he will bring along one or two of his Border Collies for a visit as well.

Fletch lives in South Carolina and has started his own Border Collie rescue group down there. I try to help him out if he needs transport or a home visit up this way.

Guess that's all for today. I will try to post any additional pictures from the New Hampshire trip today or tomorrow.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I have added the pictures from the 35mm camera that I took in New Hampshire to the same page. They are below the others starting with the Old Man of the Mountain located in the White Mountains. This is a geological formation discovered in the late 1700's. Since 1857 repairs, restoration, and maintenance of the profile has been going on to prevent further slippage of the ledges due to the elements and earth movements.

Fletch didn't arrive until 7:00. By the time he got here and we left for dinner it was rather late. We picked up another Border Collie rescue person and her two children and had dinner. We ate at a new place uptown called the Filling Station. Very good food.

We are meeting dad at 9:00 this morning to play golf. Fletch needs to return to South Carolina this afternoon.

Better run.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

There isn't really much going on right now. Today is gym and store day. Betsy is supposed to call me this morning to let me know what time to meet her for lunch. I need to get some books from the library and go to the pet store, which is right across the street.

The dogs are so funny. I always share the milk left in the bottom of my cereal bowl with Malcolm and Duncan. Kerry usually does not come in the kitchen to share my breakfast but he does once in a while. If I am having a bagel or English muffin they also get a little bit.

If they are not laying right by me while I am eating they still know when I get to the bottom of my cereal bowl and will walk into the kitchen at just the right time to get their share. I guess they can tell from the sound of the spoon hitting the bowl or the way I am eating. I am not sure.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Not really anything much to write about except I forgot to post yesterday that the mysterious smell is gone. We are not sure what it was but I replaced an extension cord and a very old and cruddy looking outlet strip. I suspect the latter. At any rate, I think we have solved the problem for now, anyway.

Maybe tomorrow I will have more to write.
