| I cannot remember when I had such a
slothful weekend. Other than cleaning house and cleaning the
oven, which really cleans itself, I didn't do much the entire
weekend. I couldn't work in the yard, it rained continuously. My
contract work for NoveList has not officially started and I
didn't even work on the PR stuff.
Yesterday afternoon I took another short nap but spent the majority of it reading. I finished up the Carolyn Hart and started another Lee Harris. I visited Lenore around 3 pm. About 7 pm last night she called Bob to say she had been handled rather roughly by one of the aides she has been having problems with since she has been in the facility. I told Bob this was the last straw. He and I both have repeatedly talked to the head of nursing about this aide and another one who has been giving Lenore a lot of trouble. We jumped in the car and headed over there. I told Bob to get the floor nurse on duty and the aide bring them to Lenore's room. Boy did that aide squeal like a stuck pig when she was confronted. Lying and telling tales on Lenore that were unbelievable. The nurse on duty of course had no authority, I just wanted her in there as a witness. Tomorrow Bob will meet with the head of nursing and fill out a formal complaint. We have been trying to handle this situation the nice way but the gloves are off now. It just burns me up to have someone treat old, frail people like these two women do and then lie to cover it up. I made it clear that if I have to I will go to the state and federal level to get something done, ASAP. Guess that is about all for now. I hope your Monday gets your week off to a good start. | As Bob alluded to in his post on Monday, we are
extending the Monday holiday into Friday of this week and Tuesday
of next. For me, that means working extra hours at Womble to make
up for the lost time on Friday and ditto for next week as well.
I stopped by to visit Lenore on the way home rather than go later this afternoon or this evening. I finally decided since we have had 24 hours without any rainfall that I would mow the lawn this afternoon. Although it was still damp the grass was not soaking wet. The forecast for tomorrow is to be clear with a chance of showers in the evening. Since I plan to work late and then make a grocery store run I was afraid it would rain earlier than expected. I spent some time Monday afternoon tweaking the pages on my Research Solutions site (Bob, don't forget to publish for me). It has been awhile since I updated some of the pages. As Bob also mentioned on his page, my TBR stack from the library is pretty high. I have three series going; Carolyn Hart, Joan Hess, and Lee Harris. Although I am a fast reader I cannot keep up with Bob who is reading them ahead of me. I plan to spend more of my evenings reading now that my shows have all gone into hiding for the summer.

| Hi Folks! Short post tonight. I have about ten
minutes until the finale episode of Buffy. The show will be going
off the air for good after this season.
Basically Wednesday was work, (seven hours straight), grocery store, home, check e-mail, do a little bit on the PR stuff, fix dinner, visit Lenore, make the 6:30 spin class at the gym, back home. I started a new Carolyn Hart mystery, Honeymoon with Murder. I did not especially like the previous one, Something Wicked. I thought she carried the plot a little too long making it a bit boring in the middle of the book. Otherwise I have liked her others.
