[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

The roofers showed up this morning just a little after 7am. I had just finished packing my lunch and had started reading the paper. Of course the dogs went nuts barking which woke Bob up. It looks really nice.

We had an early dinner so I could make the 5:30 step class.

Last night I finished up the bloodhound mystery and started one of the Sarah Andrews geologist books starring Em Hanson. In this one she has now gone back to Denver after spending some time on the family ranch helping her mom with the calving. In her last book she was out in California solving the murder. In the fourth book, Only Flesh and Bones, Em has been asked by her ex-boss, Menken, from the oil company to solve the murder of his wife. Being unemployed, she agrees with the understanding from her old boss that he will help her find a job. The hardest part of solving the murder will be to help Menken's daughter uncover her repressed memories of the murder due to being in the house when her mom was killed.

We are having some beautiful weather for the end of September. Again today, the sky is clear blue, high in the 70's with low humidity. It was a little windy and cool downtown when I walked this morning but very, very nice. I hope the nice weather sticks around for awhile.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Happy first day of fall. It warmed up somewhat today, back in the mid to upper 80's but still nice.

Sorry, but it will be another short post. I left at 3:30 for my 4pm haircut appointment, came home and fixed dinner then went out to mow, edge, and sweep. I used the gas blower to get all the roofing dirt and grit up from the driveway areas.

Just as I started mowing the back metal flap on the mower that protects your legs from things getting thrown by the mower finally broke in two pieces. It has been bent and dangling for awhile. Tonight I set the mower down one notch finally causing it to break. I had to call Bob down to help me get the two pieces unbolted from the mower. Oh well, I have had it for over ten years and it has just now started needed a few parts here and there.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Good morning. This will be my last post until next Friday after I return from my trip. This morning I cleaned house for the week. The remainder of the day will be spent packing, going to the library and grocery store, as well as other assorted odd jobs. Tonight I will go over to my parents house around 8:30 to spend the night. I think we leave Level Cross around 6am which means leaving Winston about 4:45. We travel to New Jersey tmorrow then proceed on to Vermont on Sunday arriving in South Burlington sometime Sunday afternoon. We stay in South Burlington for three nights while exploring all the wonderful sights of northern Vermont. Wednesday we leave for Gettysburg, PA where we spend the night then Thursday morning tour Gettysburg before making our way back home. I have been to southern Vermont many years ago on a trip with Bob but we did not go up as far north as we are going on this trip.

Last night we watched the two new Agatha Christie Poirot mysterys we taped last Sunday on A&E. The first one Death on the Nile was fair, the second one Sad Cypress was much better in quality. After I went to bed I finished up the Em Hansen. I can start a fresh book for my trip tonight at my parents. I don't like to take library books on my trips so I may grab the last book in the Jane Bee mystery series for the trip.

Below is a picture I took last night while out walking the dogs to practice with the new digital camera I will be taking along on my trip. I will of course still have my trusty 35mm. This digital is much easier to use and has better picture quality. Bob wants me to ditch my 35mm altogether. However, the current digital cameras that equal the quality of pictures I can take with my 35mm are out of reach in cost right now.
