[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Yes, we are back home after another wonderful visit with our friends Marcia and Brian Bilbrey in Bowie, MD. The weather was fabulous from the time we arrived on Thursday afternoon until late yesterday. As usual, just before Marcia's guests arrived for our traditional Memorial Day cookout, it started pouring down rain. However, it did not rain out the party and a good time was had by all twelve adults/children and six dogs.

Brian and I took LOTS of pictures of which I hope to post some later this week. Brian very kindly copied them all to a CD.

We left Bowie this morning arriving home just after 2:30 this afternoon. After unloading the car I cranked up the mower while Bob worked on bringing the network back up. We had not one single drop of rain while we were gone. The grass was high after nine days but not nearly as bad as it could have been. After I finished up in the yard I vacuumed the the car and cleaned dog drool from the back windows.

The dogs were very busy keeping up with their two dog pals Lucy and Molly although Duncan spent a good deal of the time enjoying being able to lay outside in the grass. Overall, Malcolm behaved very well this year both in the car and during the visit. Both dogs slept most of the way coming home being worn out from their vacation. Periodically Malcolm would sit up and do his "are we there yet bark" and then lay back down.

I need to finish unpacking and do some other assorted tasks. It will be back to work for me tomorrow.

As I post pictures of the trip I will fill you in on some of great things we did while we were on our visit.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

It was a busy "back at work" day for me. We had a lot of file requests and other assorted things going on to keep us busy. Tonight I cleaned house...why you ask? If we have been gone did I need to clean house. Well, we were home five days before we left which was more than enough time for the floors to accumulate hair and stuff tracked in from outside.

The other reason is that I am getting ready to take off for another vacation on Saturday, this time with my folks. Cleaning is much easier if I can at get the basics done once per week rather than let it get behind several weeks in a row.

I will have pictures from our weekend up tomorrow night. Bob is busy writing a couple of article that need to get done which does not give him much time to process pictures. Also, be sure to visit Brian's page for some pictures from the weekend.

The weather today was cool and damp with periods of light to moderate drizzle. Not much in the way of accumulation though. We were about 2" shy of our normal rainfall for the month of May. We need a couple of days of nice, steady rain to get caught back up.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I have a few pictures from the weekend. As you can see, most of them are centered around the dogs. I will put some more of the dog's pictures up on my Border Collie page when I get back from my trip. Duncan spent most of his time lying in the grass sleeping and/or looking happy while Malcolm enjoyed playing. Brian is playing stick with my two and Molly.

On Saturday we drove over to Annapolis for a enjoyable 40 minute boat tour of the harbor. The Annapolis Harbor is famous for its sailboating as well as the Naval Academy being right on the waterfront as you can see by the picture below. Bob is sitting on the bench in the park where we waited until time to board the boat. We did walk through part of the downtown/historic area to get to the waterfront including a stop on the way back to the car for ice cream cones for lunch.

On Sunday afternoon, Marcia and I enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Retro Tea Room. We had a full English Tea  which included a pot of freshly brewed Dejarling Tea, four types of sandwiches, scones, and assorted English cookies/biscuits.

On Monday, Brian and Marcia held their traditional Memorial Day cookout which included some neighbor's and friends as well as a few extra dogs. I caught this picture of all the dogs except one looking in the deck door. As I mentioned earlier in the week, it did rain hard enough to run the adults inside but once it slacked off we put all the dogs outside while we ate. In addition to my two you see the Bilbrey's Lucy and Molly and one of their friends dogs Shiloh (Not sure about the spelling). The other visiting dog is not in the picture.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

This will be my last post until next Friday. We leave early tomorrow morning for Level Cross to meet the bus and will be arriving back home sometime next Thursday evening. I have stocked the fridge with food for Bob and the treat jars/dog food container for the Guys.

All I have left to do is pack my suitcase and give the dogs some last minute attention. I will leave around 9pm to go over to my folks house to spend the night since we leave so early in the morning.

While I am gone Bob is planning an upgrade to my PC. When I come back I will be able to do choose and thumbnail my pictures myself after Bob downloads them for me.
