[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

We've had close to 2" of rain by this evening. Other than a few down pours the majority has been a nice steady soaking rain. The temperatures are nice too, low 70's since I am still driving the white truck. Bob said they called today and it will be Wednesday or Thursday before they will be finished rebuilding the transmission.

I am reading another Deborah Knott mystery by Margaret Maron, Death's Half Acre. This is the last book of her series on my TBR stack which was published in 2008 then I can get the most recent from the library.

Just talked to my mom. Dad had his stitches taken out today. He's doing fine but the places on his hand are taking a long time to heal.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

When it rains, now it pours. Tropical storm Nicole is making her way up the coast from Florida bringing torrential rains to the coast and possibly another 2-4 inches here. We ended up with about 2.5 from the most recent rains that also came up from the south.

Since my car is still in the shop and will most likely be there the rest of the week I am glad for the 60 and 70 degree's temperatures forecasted for the next few days. The delay in the repair is not issues with the car but they are so backed up they don't have time to get to it.

I am now reading the newest Inspector Banks by Peter Robinson, Bad Boy. This one has mixed reviews on Dorothy L but so far it seems to be okay.

Y again tonight. We are watching more of Brothers and Sisters.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

It was a rare rather quiet week at work which gave me a chance to work heads down on an ongoing project I needed to finish.

I had enough time in this afternoon to leave at 4:10. After I changed clothes Bob and I left to run some errand; drugstore, library, and grocery store. Inbetween the last two we stopped at Zoe's for dinner. After we unloaded the groceries I left Bob to put them away while I made a quick trip out to Lowe's Home Improvement.I wanted to pick up some grass seed, bird seed, and a few odds and ends. By going tonight I save a trip out in the morning. As I guessed, there was hardly anyone there tonight between high school football and the opening night of the Dixie Classic Fair. With all the rain and cool weather it will be packed in the morning with people buying seed, fall flowers, etc.

Believe it or not, they had Christmas decorations out and it's not even Halloween yet!

Off to watch some more Brothers and Sisters.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I was somewhat lazy this morning for a change. I slept in until 9 then watched Ryder Cup while I read the paper and ate breakfast. Around 10:30 Malcolm and I finally made it outside to pick up sticks before I mowed. I over seeded the yard but did not put out fertilizer. It should be about time for Scott's to come out. I called them yesterday and asked them to let my lawn guy know not to put down anything with weed preventative in with the fertilizer. Weed preventer keeps the seeds from germinating.

With all the rain and cool weather the seed I put out on that area in the front I patched finally started coming up. I figured the seed had laid on the ground so long it had dried out even though I tried to keep it watered.

It is such a pretty day I kept finding little projects to keep my outside until I finally got too tired and had to quit. I think I'll sit outside on the front porch and read for awhile this afternoon.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

After the house cleaning was finished I went over to the folks house. Dad is doing okay. The place on his arm is still not healing very well but his left hand looks somewhat better. His is still having problems with his legs swelling. The right one red is infected like the left one was last week. Since he is supposed to keep his feet up to help with the swelling I took mom to the drug and grocery stores after we ate lunch.

I am reading another Victoria Thompson, Gas Light Mystery, Murder in Chinatown.
