[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

We had a great time on our trip. Chattanooga is a great city. The folks and I have been several times on different trips. We still have not seen or done it all yet. After we checked into our hotel Friday afternoon we boarded the bus again for the short drive over to the Hamilton Place mall for a free evening to shop, get something to eat, and/or just walk around after being on the bus all day. After we ate I went in the Barnes and Nobles bookstore. I know what Bob and others are saying about box bookstores. Yes, they will be gone, but for now this one was full of people from kids to adults buying books. Obviously a lot of folks were gatherered around the Nook counter but others were buying books and magazines. While I was looking around I was listening to the music which sounded very much like Stevie Nicks but the songs were not familiar. While I don't know every song she has every recorded I know most of them so I stolled over to the audio section to see what was playing. Turns out it was her newly released CD that I just happened to have been wanting to buy, In Your Dreams. Yep, it is now part of my collection along with a mystery book I had been looking for.

My webmaster informed me today I will be switching over to WordPress later this week. It will make it much easier for Bob and me. It's fine with me. As long as things work I don't care too much what I use.

It was really busy at work today. A lot of my group is on vacation this week. I left around 4:45 to come home and mow. If we don't get some rain today may be the last time I have to do that for awhile. After I mowed I watered the plants. The grass and bushes are on their on.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Well, I wanted rain, I got rain. Storms moved in last night around 8:30 or so. Lots of lightening and wind along with 2.5 inches of rain. Some areas lost power, ours blinked a few times. We are getting another round right now.

While on my trip I read the second book in my Emily Brightwell trilogy, Mrs. Jeffries Dusts For Clues. I had e-mail from one of my readers  telling me has read several of her books. I agree with her, they do make great escape reading from the real world.

Last night I started a book on Bob's Kindle that he downloaded for me, Evelyn David's Sullivan Investigations series, Murder Takes the Cake. I may have mentioned this before, but one of my concerns about reading on the Kindle was transporting it back and forth to work. I have a small travel size padded pouch that is the perfect size for carrying the kindle that I bought in when we were in Yellowstone. It's just large enough to hold a wallet and a few other things.

One advantage to reading the Kindle at work during lunch is it lies flat on the table. I am usually keeping the pages from turning or the book from closing with either a stapler or one of those leather book weights. I am not sure I like it better than actually reading a physical book but it's not too bad.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Wow, the year is already half over. Where did it go? Things have been busy but not too crazy at work with several support staff in our group on vacation. This morning I had to help look for some documents in one of the cases we are litigating and do a couple of easy secretarial things for another attorney. Otherwise, I have been cranking away on a big project that needs to get done. I imagine a lot of the people who have worked this week will be taking tomorrow off. Perhaps it will be a quiet day.

I think this week is the first one in about three that I have made it to the Y on two nights. Between traveling and mowing I was down to one night a week. After the rainy evenings we had a bit of a cool down the last day or so but things are heating back up starting tomorrow.

We have finished up all the episodes of Big Love. We are back to watching ArmyWives and Numbers.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I am looking forward to a three day weekend. I started mine a little early today working through lunch and leaving at 3:15. Frances told me she saw some summer shirts I might like at Catherine's which is in the same shopping center as the Wal-Mart. I did find a couple of things on sale before doing my combined grocery and other stuff shopping. Wal-Mart was a zoo, as I expected it to be, with people shopping for the weekend.

When I got home I called the garden center to have three scoops of mulch delivered first thing in the morning.
