Mostly sunny and breezy today with highs in the upper 50’s.

A very busy day at the store. We made over $100.00 and had a two huge donations come in. Did not have time to sort and price those being too busy with customers. The boxes went to the back room for me to sort and work on later.

Being the week before Easter we had a lot of visitors in town and in the store. Always nice to to talk with folks and find out where they are visiting from.

Whew, been a couple of busy days. Weather wise, we had an inch and a half of rain from Friday evening to late this morning. Temperatures dropped this afternoon as the winds have picked up again with 15 to 20 mph gusts dropping lows tonight into the 30’s with a wind chill into the upper 20’s.

We had two good days at the store almost breaking $100.00 yesterday and today. We also had a couple of good donations come in to work on.

Last night Donna, Jo, Catherine and I were at the Cellar. One of our local pottery artisans played some really nice folk song type music. Tonight, Donna and I went back to listen to her friends David and Chris play. They play more country and 70’s type music. One of her friends’ son and daughter-in-law came in later and they joined  us.

Sunny and breezy when I left for Winston this morning. Temperatures in the mid 40’s had climbed into the mid 50’s by the time got back home.

I had a haircut then went to Costco for my spring run. They have stopped carrying several of the cereals I buy. Cereal isle is one little row compared to what it used to be and getting smaller. Snacks and cookie type products are split between the back of the store and the front of the store. But, I found most of what I was looking for to last until my late summer/fall run then headed back up the mountain. Now I have to unload it all and put it away.

Nature is ahead of us down there so more things were in bloom.

Blustery winds last night and again today. 40 to 50 mph at times. Temperatures in the upper 50’s but wind chill makes it feel chilly. We are under a wind advisory through tonight.

A slow day at the store. We processed some books. I helped Joyce finish decorating the store for Easter after she did the window.

I went to the gym this morning. This afternoon I had a dentist appointment for my six month checkup. Otherwise, not much else going on.

Saturday March 16, 2024

Warm and sunny today with highs in the upper 60’s and a light breeze.

An off and on day at the store. Despite not a lot of traffic we still made over $100.00. A small donation came in just as we were closing up. I will sort that one on Wednesday.

I am meeting Wendy and her husband at Muddy Creek for dinner. They have Celtic music tonight in honor of St. Pat’s Day. I will not be eating corned beef and cabbage!

Busy day at the store. Processed several big donations between waiting on lots of customers. We made over $200.00 dollars.

I met Donna, Debra, and a friend of Debra’s from out of town for nice relaxing evening at the Cellar.

Sunny and warm with temperatures in the upper 60’s and calm winds. Too warm for March in the mountains.

We had a slow day in sales and customers at the store. But, we spent all day sorting, pricing, and shelving the two big donations that came in last Saturday. We had a couple of small ones to also come in to add to the pile.

Monday March 11, 2023

55 mph plus winds blew all day yesterday and up until late this afternoon. I was up and down all night looking out the back and front. Yesterday afternoon the grill blew halfway across the deck. Temperatures went down into the upper 20’s last night.

Today was sunny and warmer once the winds died down. We made it into the low 50’s. I went to the gym and library this morning. This afternoon I went over to Donna’s for a visit and to play with all the dogs.
