What I am reading. I am taking a break from reading mystery novels to read a book Mary loaned me. She knows I am a big Jane Austen fan and thought I might enjoy Longbourn by Jo Baker. This is a novel based on Austen’s Pride and Prejudice but takes a look at life below stairs as told by a housemaid, Sarah. Through her eyes we get a glimpse of the Bennet household as seen by the servants and the life the servants lead in the country home of Longbourn during the early 1800’s and the Napoleonic War.<\/p>\n
