She has an incident in the book of a puppy being put in the library book drop. Now, the reason I mention it is because: in 1983 I left the main library to run the Reynolda Branch. The staff told me a similar story. Our book drop was a chute in the building wall that dropped the books into a wooden box in the staff area. One morning they cam in to find a rabbit sitting in the middle of the box, unharmed, just looking around. In this book, like a lot of libraries, the drop is a large metal bin with a door much like the FedEx drop boxes. And, of course, the puppy is not hurt and goes home with the head librarian and main character of the series. I am sure, unfortunately, this happens all over the world where there are kids and book drops and since the author is a former librarian it may have happened at her library.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the weekend, I started the 2nd book in Jenn McKinlay&#8217;s A Library Lover&#8217;s Mystery series on my Kindle, Due or Die.
