Barbara is fine.<\/p>\n
Some people were getting worried about her not posting for a few days, but I’ve spoken with Frances, and Barbara is doing OK.<\/p>\n
She had a flare up of infection in her knee, not the same one as last time, but the right one, and was hospitalized.<\/p>\n
They’ve removed the infected implant, and she’s currently in\u00a0 a\u00a0 rehab facility getting treatment\u00a0 for the infection and getting her strength up so that she can return home.<\/p>\n
She’s stronger and feels better than the last time she went through this, but she’ll be getting daily PT and care for a couple of weeks before she goes home.\u00a0 After that, once the infection is completely cleared up, she’ll go back to have a new knee replacement, which will have its own convalescence and recovery period.<\/p>\n
She’s been through this before, knows what to expect, and is looking forward to getting home, but she probably won’t be posting for a couple of weeks.<\/p>\n
Keep checking for periodic updates, either from me or from Frances in a comment, and of course, keep her in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n
