[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I spent all day yesterday either working in the house or outside on the house. We pretty much have Lenore settled in up here. Still a few minor things to do. I started packing up her breakable stuff from downstairs but ran out of tissue paper. I did get the living room cleaned up a bit and packed away some of the stuff I had stashed in there from the guest room. I was tired of being inside, so I decided to try washing the windows with this outdoor window washing stuff.

It attaches to your garden hose and has a three setting valve. The first one is off, so that you can turn on the hose once it is attached. The second is rinse and the third is wash. You turn on the rinse and it sprays water far enough to reach our second floor windows with no problem. After you wet the windows, you turn on the wash and the cleaner in the bottle shoots out to wash the windows. Than you rinse.

I did all the high windows and the side shutters. It actually worked. I was surprised because I have bought other outdoor type gadget items before and they did not perform as they intended. This actually is a very good product and could be used to wash siding on houses or any thing needed washed that is too high or dangerous to reach with a ladder.

Today we will finish the deck. I may paint the shutters this morning before we start on the deck, so that I can finish that up.

The Winston Cup race is tonight from Bristol Motor Speedway. We will have dinner and I will rest and watch the race. This is one of my favorite tracks to watch.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

We spent all day Saturday, literally, to finish power washing the deck. No painting today, it is going to rain. I may paint the inside front door this afternoon.

I fixed dinner and then relaxed watching the race. Bristol is my favorite track and the race was a good one as usual although I was not thrilled with the winner.

Since Marcia has been talking so much about her craft/ornament project, I have to tell a very funny story on myself. Last year (before my diary page and the NetWidows existed), Bob started posting funny pictures of Malcolm getting into trouble as a small puppy. He will be a year old September 21.

Bob posted the picture of Malcolm getting into the toilet paper roll around the first week of December, He was also constantly mentioning all the things he was getting into on his diary pages. BTW,  still have that picture on my Border Collie page.

The next day or so I got a message from Marcia, who I did not know at the time, that she almost fell off her chair laughing at Malcolm getting into the toilet paper roll. I am not sure at that point if she mentioned the ornament she was making for Malcolm or if it was another message. At some point I got another message from her about sending me something every small puppy needs to keep him out of trouble and so forth.

HA, I forget about the message from Marcia and (gasp!) thought it was SPAM from someone trying to sell me something.

I don't remember how the conversation came up, but Bob mentioned something about Brian's wife, Marcia and Christmas and ornaments, etc. I said to Bob, oh God. I got a message from her and I thought it was SPAM. I was so embarrassed.

Anyway, Marcia sent Malcolm a cute ornament of a bell that I hung on the tree and would ring if he tried to get it. I e-mailed her to tell her why I had never returned her message and that I was not born in a barn without manners.

Subsequently we become great e-mail friends. I started my diary page January 1st of this year simply because some of the other wives of the DayNotes Gang were doing one and Bob encouraged me to start one. We are now all grouped together as the  NetWidows and I have met several other very nice wives of computer geeks. Marcia lives out on the West coast and I live on the East, so we have never met in person.

Lots to do, better get started. Right in the middle of writing this, Duncan barfed all over the floor. Never a dull minute around here.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

This morning was a first in a long time for me, I slept in 'til 8:30. I heard Bob get up at 7:30, which was late in itself, and take the dogs out. I just could not wake up. I guess after they came back in they curled up and went back to sleep with me until I got up.

I guess all the work on the house and doing stuff has finally caught up with me.

So, today I have a few errands to run and I think I will just make it an easy day. I have to take Lenore to the doctor this afternoon. Otherwise I will work on the book and my genealogy stuff.

Last night I did sit and read. I finished the book Jude by Betty Burton. It was actually very good. Since it was published in 1986, you will have to get it either from the library. I am not sure it is in print even in paperback.

I have a full review of it on my favorites page.

We did finally get some rain last night. We had several storms one after another but not anything real severe. Several other areas around us including my parents side of town got hit pretty hard.

I hope everyone has a good Monday and start to their week.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

We got good news yesterday. Kerry is okay. He had some kind of infection that caused the growths. We will keep an eye on the enzyme levels in his kidney's but he is a pretty healthy guy for going on 13 years. As far as the eating goes, I bought a small bag of different food and will try that mixed with a little of the canned.

Duncan is fine too. Like humans, he has allergies to grass or whatever. Terrible for a sheep dog! At any rate, when they act up they make him throw up. It always looks the same ( I will not go into a description here) and a Pepcid AC settles him right down. It is almost always in the morning.

Dogs are fine, Lenore went to the doctor for a check up and she is also in pretty good health for her age.

Bob posted a picture yesterday I took of him cleaning up his office. I was going to mention that you need to see the remaining two thirds of the room is still a mess but I see he posted that himself. I took the picture of him wearing my L.L. Bean headlight. It is a flash light attached to straps that go on your head. It gives you an extra hand when you need to be doing something and holding a flash light. Bob gave it me for Christmas last year to use when I am practicing veterinary medicine on my dogs.

After taking off most of yesterday I did go down and do some work on the downstairs last night. It is a very nice, cool day for painting. I am going to try to finish that up today and I need to mow. They are calling for rain the rest of the week.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

If you tried my link yesterday to the picture of Bob wearing the L.L. Bean headlight, it is now fixed. Sorry about that, I messed up the link.

We got some of the painting done on the back of the house yesterday. I painted the door and window frames and the eaves and guttering where the deck is. Bob had to do the high part I could not reach right at the end of the deck side of the house. From the deck stairs over to the other end of the house is the high part. We are going to get a long handle for the roller so that Bob does not have to climb that high to paint the eaves and guttering along there.

I am glad I mowed yesterday. We have a big rain maker supposed to come in today, tonight and tomorrow.  I am off to the gym and store this morning and then I am going to the library to work for a couple of hours. I need a break from the stuff here and that is fun work for me.

Marcia posted on her page yesterday about trying to stay up late with Brian. I guess to be a computer person you have to drink gallons of Coke and be a night person. Everyone that I know fits those personality traits. I gave up trying to stay up late with Bob a long, long, time ago. With a few exceptions, I go to bed first around 10:00 to read for however long I can stay awake, 10:30 to 11:00. Sometimes he comes to bed to read too, but I still fall asleep long before he turns off his light.

This is U.S. Open Tennis time. For the next two weeks there is something to watch most nights and weekends. We don't watch as much tennis as I do golf, but we do usually watch Wimbledon and the Open. I sometimes turn on the day matches while I eat lunch or am taking a break from working. If a really good match is running at night, I will often stay up late to watch it in bed.

Guess that is about all

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I want to thank Keri Beland for the www.move.com web site she posted on her diary page yesterday. It will make use of some of the planners and tips that they recommend. Since I am the organizer of the family, I am the one who will have to do all the strategic planning when the time comes for "action".

Rain, rain, again today. No golf, but I need to be here anyway. The carpet cleaners are coming this morning and I need to work today on computer projects.

I think Bob is setting up my new color printer so I can now print pictures from the digital images if I want to.

I did not go to spinning class Tuesday night so I am going tonight instead.

Guess that's about all for today.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

It is supposed to rain today and all weekend. We will not be able to do any outside work but there is plenty to do inside. I will vacuum the downstairs carpet today and this weekend we will move the furniture back in. The dry clean did a real good job. It raised a lot of the dog hair to the surface, which is why I am vacuuming it after having it cleaned.

Bob and I are heading to Lowe's this morning to get various things we need to complete out house projects. I have to pick up my mom this afternoon for an appointment. Guess that will be about all for today.

Bob installed my new color printer yesterday. Now I can make copies of pictures from the digital camera or duplicates of pictures to share with my family. Frances and I have been working on this big picture project, trying to get all the family pictures not in albums sorted between the two of us to be added to the ones I just completed.

I am also going to try to get the Callahan family genealogy up on the web site fairly soon. I finally got a lot of the supporting paperwork sorted and filed in notebooks for easy reference and to have on hand when I get a chance to do library searching.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.
