Last night I picked mom up after work to meet Frances and “the group” at El Maguey here on our side of town. I brought Bob a take out.

This morning I mowed. The leaves are already starting to fall plus the grass was still wet from dew so I but the bagger on. May as well leave it on for the rest of the mowing season. When I finished I tackled digging up one of the azaleas at the front corner of the house. There are three of them I cut back every five or six years into individual bushes then they grow back out into one big bush. I noticed when I cut them back this year one of them looked like it was two thirds dead. Not surprising since they’ve been in the ground since we moved in 26 years ago and who knows how long before that.

It took half an hour of digging and resting to get it out of the ground. I will leave the other two since they still look pretty healthy. Most of the wood has new growth with very little dead wood in them. With the third one dug up I can swing the down spout run off tube at a better down hill angle. Instead of putting another small bush in there I may just mulch the corner and bury the tube.

This afternoon I need to to stop by the library to pick up a book on hold and then the grocery store. Kit projects for Bob when I get back home.

We’ve had more August like weather this past week with high humidity and hit or miss rain showers/thunder storms. This morning it was very humid thought the temperatures where still in the high 70’s.
