It’s been a rough week but Frances and I keep plugging along. We spent Monday – Wednesday getting things organized for the service on Thursday. We had a nice turnout for a weekday. My mom’s brother came from Fayetteville and our cousin from Greensboro. His mom, my mom’s oldest sister died a year ago April 15th. We held the reception after the funeral at mom’s apartment.
Yesterday we spent several hours at the apartment cleaning out the desk, filing cabinet, and packing up small stuff. I came home with four boxes full of stuff which I emptied so we can use the boxes. This morning I had several errands to run then met Marcy for lunch. Afterwards it was back to the apartment. Al’s son will was taking the dresser, chest of drawers, the extra twin bed in the second bedroom along with some small odds and ends. The folks that moved mom from their house to the apartment were available to today to help load up Will’s trailer and take the remaining furniture and odds and ends to Frances and Al’s storage unit. We boxed up more small stuff today. All that is left is to clean out the three big closets, the kitchen cabinets, and the bathrooms.
I finally made it to the grocery store on the way home this afternoon. Now out to mow the lawn.
