Today is our last day of warm, sunny, weather. Rain and storms move in tonight bringing temperatures down into the 50’s for highs and 40’s for lows over the next couple of days.

I had a couple of outdoor chores to do this morning.  I will work on kit stuff until time to stop for lunch and shower to get ready for the bookstore this afternoon.

It’s Labor Day but just another day of the week for the Thompson household. I went to the gym this morning. I changed the spring/summer garden flags to fall. I have three; out by the road, the bed by the front steps, and the deck.

Otherwise kit work as usual. I put together 28 small parts bags but not sure what else Bob needs me to work on. I am grilling hamburger steaks for dinner to go with home made bread. The weather is nice; sunny and warm with not much of a breeze.

I am reading A Likely Story by Jenn McKinlay.

House cleaning chores this morning. We have kit stuff to work on this afternoon. The front moved out bringing sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70’s for today. And, it is breezy. I am looking forward to fall and cooler weather but with it will come that ever present wind blowing almost all the time.

We’ve had a little over an inch of rain as of this afternoon. Yesterday afternoon and evening we had periods of heavy fog and some heavy downpours. Today, so far, has been misty and cool.

Between kit projects I worked on things at my desk and did a few other household odds and ends that needed taken care of.

Gym, library, and grocery store this morning. Heavy rain off and on today which translates into very little outdoor play time for Colin. We have kit stuff to work on.

I left at 8:30 for Winston to get a haircut and meet Marcy for lunch at Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar. In between haircut and lunch I made a quick stop at Costco for a couple of items we usually purchase they had on sale and the pet store for dog food.

It was warm, overcast, and humid down there but no rain. I hit rain on 77 and again on 21, very heavy at times. It has slowed to just a drizzle by the time I arrived back in Sparta.

Gym this morning. Otherwise, we are working heads down on processing the various items that go in the kits. We are filling bottles today but when in between I am putting together baggies of small items for small parts bags.

Sunny and warm today but we do have some rain supposedly coming our way from the remnants of Harvey. This Friday was to be our monthly Music on Main event and the town has already cancelled it.

Cool and cloudy this morning. Looks like we some drizzle during the night but nothing measurable. I cooked the last of the garden veggie last night to go with my left over fried chicken. I peeled and boiled about eight various sized sweet potatoes in the dutch oven then mashed them and sauteed one zucchini and a couple of tiny yellow squash. The mashed sweet potatoes are good with just butter and salt and pepper.

Kit stuff to do this morning. I volunteer at the Friends bookstore this afternoon.

Sunday August 27, 2017

House cleaning chores this morning. After a very busy day yesterday both outside and indoors I am working on easy kit stuff today. I need to put together sub-assemblies of things that go in the kits. I can work on those in the den. We are peddling as fast as we can to stay ahead of inventory for the kit orders.

We still have fall like weather but we need rain. Not much of a chance in the immediate forecast
