I am reading Scales of Justice by Ngaio Marsh.
Gym, library, and grocery store this morning. We have kit projects lined up for the remainder of the day. Lots of sunshine and warm temperatures have returned.

A trip down to Winston this morning leaving here at 8:15. I had several errands to take care of before getting to Frances and Al’s around 11:15 to drop off some things for them and pick up some things for me. From there I went uptown to meet Lori, Tina, and Karin for lunch. From lunch I made a quick Costco stop to pick up a couple of things then headed home.
Although I hit a couple of rain showers on the way down and when I arrived in Winston it soon cleared up and was a nice enough day for us to eat outside at Jeffrey Adams for lunch. It’s a bit cooler and windier up here.
Happy 34th anniversary to Bob.
Frances and Al came up yesterday morning. While I worked on my projects Al tilled the garden and planted a crop of turnips. After he finished with the garden he helped me with my weeding project and a couple of other odds and ends things that needed done outside. We went to dinner at Mt. Surf.
This morning Al and Bob put up the shelving in the food room. I put out my fall decorations while they worked on that project. They left a little while ago to head back down to Winston.
The project for today. I am digging up the grass along the natural areas by the driveway. The crab grass and clover are growing over into the mulch.
Most of the plants in the hanging pots are looking pretty shabby. I will go ahead and dump those and bring in all the pots in preparation for Irma, who is going to pass fairly close to us next Monday and Tuesday because of the possibility of high winds.
Gym, bank, library, and store this morning. I also dropped off a small box of stuff at Alleghany Cares.
I spent about five hours working on the garage yesterday. The pile of shelving boards in the picture are waiting to go down to the basement for Bob’s shelving projects. I may wait until Frances and Al come up again and ask Al take it as one load in his pickup down around back. I hauled off a Trooper load of cardboard and two bags of trash to the landfill yesterday afternoon after I finished.
I am reading Whale Of A Crime by Karen MacInerney.
The project for today is the garage. The areas where we keep kit odds and ends such as boxes and packing materials is a mess. Also, with summer winding down I need to clean up and arrange the garden area to get ready for bringing in hanging baskets etc.
We had a large stack of various board sizes along the back wall. I had to move all the kit stuff to get to the boards and brackets to eventually build more shelving in the downstairs food room. Bob helped me pull out all the boards and move one of the doors we used to use for a desk to the side wall. Now I have room to organized boxes and packing materials.
For right now we have a large pile of boards stacked on the floor between the two cars until we can move them down to the basement.
Gym this morning. It poured rain all morning but has slacked off to just a light rain and drizzle this afternoon. We are well up over an inch. It should all be out of here by this evening.
