Dinner out last night with Nancy and Betsy. As is usual for our Christmas dinner we exchanged gifts. We ate at the Spring House. I had been there for lunch back in the summer. It’s a little more upscale and expensive than our usual places but the food is very good. The restaurant is located across the street from the main library in the old Bahnson House. The house has a very long and storied history but eventually was deeded over the library in the early 70’s. Before the new addition was built on the 1953 originally built library it was used to house administration, cataloging, and our outreach departments. When the new addition was added on those departments moved to the main building but the library continued using it. Several years ago all the library departments left the building but it continued to house some other country agencies. The county finally deeded it back to the Foundation that gave it to the library. It was purchased by the young couple who turned it into a lovely place to dine.
