Dad had a bad first night at the nursing home (Tuesday night) due a patient with dementia who hollered all night long. My friend Marcy went out yesterday to  check on how dad was doing so Frances and I would not miss work. When she arrived at 2pm they were just giving him his 12 noon dose of antibiotic. She went to the drugstore to pick up a few things he needed then stayed until he received his supper tray. They take them to the dinning room but for some reason delivered a tray to his room. She called me at 5:30 to let me know he still had not been moved to a private room as promised Wednesday morning.

I fixed dinner then headed out to Clemmons. On the way over the van in front of me knocked a chunk of concrete from the side of a manhole. I did not see it in time to miss the hole and hit it going 35 mph. The low air light immediately came home. The air pressure in the tire dropped form 39 to 17 psi. I turned around and headed for Firestone calling Bob on the way. I got there just as they were closing. The young guy came and said to drop the keys in the night box and he would take care of it first thing this morning. So, a brand new tire and front end alignment wrecked already. Bob came to get me. I brought him home then headed to Clemmons…again. When I arrived they had just moved dad but not his belongings. I had to move all his stuff, find his walker, and then call Frances to make sure I had everything. He was in a pair of his dress pants that do not fit very well and button and a hospital gown. I helped him get is pants off and gown off and dressed him in his short pj’s so he would be more comfortable. He has a hard time with buttons so I told him to wear his elastic waist pants we brought over for the time being. It was 9pm by the time I had him changed and still no antibiotic. When I asked the nurse she said she had other patients to see to and he would get it when she had time to look it up and get to it. Geez! I want dad out of that place ASAP.

It was going on 10 by the time I got back home. This morning Bob caught a ride with the neighbor to go over and pick up my car. I went to the Y then picked up Bojangles for dinner.
