This past Wednesday the lawn service plugged and seeded the lawn. I asked Bob to tell them if they blow leaves off the lawn to blow them onto the natural areas not the street. Last year we received a nasty-gram from the city about my leaves being out in the street and would be fined $300 if not removed. So, this year the stupid city will not get my leaves for their free mulch give-away next spring. Instead I will dump the lawn vacuum from the front into the yard cart and the back in the natural area and the back corner where I have the sink hole.

This morning I raked all the leaves from the natural area by the driveway onto the driveway then blew them to the back natural area. The pile was too high and thick to try and mulch with the vacuum. I trimmed back the hosta, snipped the high sprigs from the bushes, and did a few other little clean up chores in the front beds. On the other side of the walkway along the front of the house I raked those leave around the corner to the side bed. With the new seed and fertilizer down I can’t blow leaves across the lawn.

After I finished up moving leaves around I threw out some additional seed and fertilizer on some of the worst bare areas then hand watered the entire lawn.

Bob probably has kit stuff for me to work on this afternoon.
