Coming to you from Lexington, VA. Yesterday we finished up our Blue Ridge part of the Journey and continued onto Skyline in the Shenandoah Valley. The Blue Ridge ends at Charlottesville, VA milepost zero and the Skyline starts at milepost 100.5. We arrived at Skyline Resort, milepost 46 around 3pm. A beautiful place to stay; we had a view looking out over the valley below. Unfortunately they had a horrible storm the night before and it knocked out the Wifi connection. There was no cell service there at all. We were not able to much walking around as the bugs were horrible, getting in your face, ears, and nose. The food at the restaurant was very good.

This morning we grabbed a quick pastry and drink when we checked out and hit the road. We finished up the Skyline Drive exiting at Front Royal, VA. After walking around that little town we hopped back in the car heading south on VA route 351. We stopped in the town of Shenandoah for lunch at a nice Italian place, Mama Mia’s. Then we drove on to Waynesboro, VA. After walking around that little town we hopped back in the car on route 250 to route 6 to route 151 ti route 60 into Buena Vista. That route took us on winding mountain roads and a beautiful drive through the valley.

There was not much in Buena Vista so we continued 6 more miles on 60 into Lexington, VA where we are staying at a beautiful Hampton Inn a block from historic downtown. The Inn is built to look like an historic house with the same type brick for the room additions in the back.

We are getting ready to head downtown to find something for dinner.
