I am reading a new mystery in J.A. Jance’s Joanna Brady series, set in the desert of Arizona, Remains of Innocence. As with all of Jance’s series she has two plots going in the same book that will eventually meet up with one another in the same place. The alternate plot starts in Massachusetts with the death of a young woman’s supposedly destitute mother. The central plot and murder investigation set in the Arizona desert centers around the death of a mentally challenged adult found dead in the old cave mine.

We had light rain overnight but those showers had moved through by the time I left for work. When I left work at 4:30 for hair cut appointment it was thundering/lightening and pouring. It was a frog chocking rain flooding some of the streets. It was still storming when Pam finished cutting my hair and her next appointment had not arrived so I chatted with her for a few more minutes until the worst of the storm had moved on out.
