When the guys laid the new sidewalk they put down some seed along the the sides where they filled in the dirt. The seed came up very fast some of which was what I think is annual rye grass. Bright green, big bladed ugly stuff that I do not want in my yard. Not knowing for sure if was annual or perennial I dug it all up this morning and edged the front curb. The grass had very shallow roots making it easy to dig up; there was just a lot of it. It only took an hour and half or so to dig, edge, and sweep up. While it is not too hot temperature wise the humidity was pretty high. Glad to get that project out of the way. I did not put any seed down right now but will wait until I do the fall seeding. I don’t want to get new growth grass too close to the new sidewalk so I don’t chip it with the edger blade.

Bob needs kit help this afternoon.
