This is our first Christmas without both parents. I have so many wonderful Christmas memories from childhood to present I could fill a book. From our childhood onward many Christmas traditions have come and gone with the times but this day of the year has always been very special to my family. No, every year has not always been perfect, but every year my parents tried very hard to make each and every Christmas something special for us right down to their final days at the retirement community. And, Frances and myself also wanted to, in turn, make it special for them by finding that special gift or memory for them.
So, this year it will be just her and I plus Bob and Al will be celebrating in a new way with Christmas here at my house for the first time in over 20 years. We will make new memories and perhaps start a new tradition, who knows?
