I am reading Booked for Trouble by Eva Gates, the first book in her Lighthouse Mystery series. Eva Gates is a pen name for Vicky Delany who writes the Molly Smith series I am also reading. The series is set on the grounds of the Bodie Island Lighthouse, Outer Banks NC, one of my favorite lighthouses of NC. The lighthouse itself, in the book, houses a library , offices, two staircases and a small apartment where Lucy, the assistant librarian lives with library cat Charles. The real lighthouse is of course not large enough to house all the above but it is still a working lighthouse, which I have visited and used as one of the models for my wood carved lighthouse at the Campbell School.
I spent the morning planting 30 sets of seeds, not in pots, but in paper towels drenched in Miracle Grow and placed in quart baggies. The seeds are the ones we froze and are now testing for germination.
