I am reading The Dark Enquiry by Deanna Raybourn. Lady Julia Grey and Brisbane, a private detective, have finally returned home to London after traveling abroad from their honeymoon. The series is set in the late 1880’s with Lady Grey coming from a wealthy and very large family. Widowed early, she falls in love with Brisbane of whom her father considers not worthy of her because of his occupation. Worse still, Grey assists her husband in solving his cases. Unfortunately for Grey’s father, her brothers have also gone onto less than attractive occupations or hobbies he considers unsuitable for wealthy off spring. The oldest and heir to the fortune, Lord Bellmont acts and lives the life of the perfect gentleman but now finds himself in trouble and needing their help. This is another excellent series if you enjoy Victorian England/historical mysteries.
