It’s been a busy day. Two guys came about 9:30 to look at the damage from the earthquake and take pictures. OT got here at 10:30 to help with my shower.  The guys checking the house said the propane tank shifted about an inch.

I called Blue Ridge Energy to let them know. She said someone would come out to check on it. They arrived just as I finished lunch. I had the oven on self clean and cleaned the grates. I did one, went in to sit and rest, then did the other one.

PT showed at three to put me through my exercise routine. Al was in Winston all day for appointments. He got  home about 2.

We just had a pretty good thunderstorm roll through.

Sunday, Al noticed a drip in the downstairs area. I was surprised since we replaced all those pipes and fittings when we had the big flood in 2016. He pulled the ceiling tile and put down a bowl to catch drip. Yesterday I called Shaw Brothers and she said he would be out sometime this morning.

In the meantime I went in the master bathroom and there was water all around the toilet and a bolt laying on the floor. Turns out that was drip. I’ve had trouble with this toilet since we moved in. I think its leaking around the seal as well.

Plumber came this morning to replace my water filter and will be back tomorrow to replace the toilet.

OT came to help with my shower and the nurse will be here this afternoon to change my pic line dressing.

Al had all the mess cleaned up from the quake by late yesterday afternoon. Since I can’t help physically I went room to room including downstairs listing everything broken, damage beyond repair, etc.

The worst damage was the chimney shifted about an inch and half. It buckled the flashing on the roof and the tiles. We also have some cracks at several of the doorways.

I had someone ask about Colin when the quake hit. It’s funny. I had just finished my breakfast sitting on the couch. Colin was at the other end. When the quake hit he just laid there with no reaction. I was really surprised.

Today, Al drove us to Winston. We did a Costco run then I had a 12:30 haircut appointment then we headed back up the mountain.

We were hit the a 5.1 magnitude earth quick at 8:05. I was eating breakfast and Al was back here in the bedroom changing the sheets on my bed. According to the USGS we were right in the middle of the epicenter.

Fortunately we were not hurt. Lots of epicures off the wall with broken glass and trinkets knocked to the floor. One bookshelf fell over but did not land on anything but the floor. With me out of commission Al had to do the cleanup. I am making a list of stuff damaged. The garage is a mess where everything came off those shelves.

Al is in Winston today to spend some time with Frances. Since there is not much I can do yet around the house or in the yard I’m spending the day working crossword puzzles and working on the backlog of paperwork on my desk.

I’ve had Colin out a couple of times to roam around while I sat on the porch. Temperatures are in the upper 70’s with very little breeze.

Al had to go to Winston again today.

OT came to help with my shower, The nurse will be here something this afternoon.

I have a beautiful Rose of Sharon that I brought up from Winston.  It right by the porch where I can see from where I sit. A couple of days ago I noticed I have a hummingbird enjoying the flowers. It fun to watch it flit around the flowers then off he/she goes.

Al had to go to

Winston today to take care of some things. I’ve had OT in to  help with my shower. PT just left. We are working on getting my legs stronger and on balance. Today I walked out to the road and back with the cane.

Al has been harvesting green beans, zucchini, and squash from the garden. This morning he pick a bucket of apples which is cooking right now making apple sauce,

I had OT come help with my shower. I am using the cane in the house with a few exceptions like at night when I get up to go to the bathroom. And still using the cane to walk the driveway.

76 degrees with  slight chance of a shower. Cool temperatures but it’s still warm in sun.

It’s been a busy morning. OT came at 10:00 to help with my shower. Then the nurse showed up at noon to do a blood draw and change the dressing on the pic line. Just as she was leaving OT showed up,

It had finally stopped raining so we walked out to the mailbox then came back inside to do my leg exercises and try out using the cane.

Al had to go down to Winston to do some things at their house. I am feeling much better today and the pain level has dropped to a much more tolerable level.
