62 degrees with light rain. Another chilly, rainy day. Not a lot of accumulation of rain just off and on showers.

The library is back open for curb side service. Two of my books came in that I had on reserve just before they shut down. When Tim called I explained the back situation. I drove over and they brought them to the car and took the ones I had to turn in.

The battle of the back continues. Last slept some last night sitting in my chair in the den and the rest in the bed. Today just trying to stay comfortable.

61 degrees, cloudy, and drizzle this morning. Mid 60’s. cloudy, and drizzle today.

I had  to o into town to the drugstore to pick up another prescription to try for the back. Also, got a card from the vet. They are back to doing routine exams but I will have to wait until I get this back mess fixed. You still have to stay in the car and they take your pet in for what’s needed. I had to drive out there this morning to pick up his six month supply of Heartguard which they brought it out to the car.

Otherwise nursing the pain. Not sure the new meds are going to work. I had an okay night last night. Today has been rough.

Mid 70’s with a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon.

Al finished planting the vinca in ground by the sidewalk and doing a pot with the rest of the portulaca to go on the one of the little tables on the porch this morning.

While he was outside working and had Colin out Frances vacuumed for me. Gosh, the house looks so much better. I have the best sister and brother-in-law in the world. They worked all weekend planting, swept the garage, and do stuff I have not been able to do because of my back. Al hosed off the porch and wrought iron chairs so we could put out the cushions. And, Colin got in some outdoor ball playing and attention.

We planted beans and squash in the garden. I don’t know if the potatoes on order are going to come. If not, we can plant a couple more rows of beans..

Another warm, sunny day. A bit breezy this afternoon with temps in the mid 70’s.

Frances and Al arrived about 9:30. After getting their things settled in we went into town to Scott’s nursery and Hawks. I picked up my hanging basket and potted plants.

We set up the folding table in the garage using chairs. I filled pots with dirt and Frances planted the material. I took breaks to ice and rest my back. It still hurts like heck but I have to get things done/

While Frances and I potted plants Al tilled the garden. The potatoes I ordered are back ordered but we can put in the beans, yellow squash, and marigolds. No big deal if we don’t get the potatoes.

64 degrees and sunshine with blue skies this morning. It was wonderful to see the sun shine after four days of rain. Upper sixties today but we have a chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

I had a 10:30 appointment with Dr. Rob, my chiropractor then back home. Ice on 10 mins, off 50 this afternoon. I am doing the laundry today. Hopefully Frances and Al will be coming up tomorrow to bring me a few items I need from Winston. Looking forward to their visit.

51 degrees, windy, and rainy. Still under flash flood watch. 3 more inches of rain in the outdoor gauge since yesterday. We are up to at least 7 plus inches with more today and tonight.

Mornings are rough as the back is still doing spasms and hurting. Once I got all the meds taken and can get dressed I feed Colin and get him out then I iced the back for ten minutes. Now I can eat my breakfast.

I really needed to make a grocery store run to pick up milk, juice, etc. I found everything I was looking for. Shelves are looking better but there are still some bare shelves of stuff that I did not need. I stocked up on more pasta and noodles and Alfredo sauce. I have plenty of spaghetti and marina sauce from my Coscto stash.

There were not many folks in the store but I wore my mask.

49 degrees, rain, and wind is the story for today.

The back kept me up all night last night. I had phone call from Dr. Ambler at 1:30. We discussed what to do next. We’re going with a course of prednisone and he put me on a nerve medication I took several years ago. Four weeks and I’ve about had it.
