Another warm, sunny day with temperatures in the upper 50’s and calm winds. Low’s at night are still going down into the upper 20’s and low 30’s but the days are very warm.

An off and on busy day at the store but we almost broke the $100.00 ceiling anyway.

Joanne picked up me after I got home and we went to dinner at the Pizzeria.

Monday February 5, 2024

Beautiful sunny day with highs in the upper 50’s and calm winds.

Went to the gym then home to fix lunch and go back to town for the Friends of the Library meeting this afternoon. Otherwise, not a lot going on.

Saturday February 3, 2024

A sunny day with temperatures in the mid to upper 50’s and calm winds.

We had a good day at the store. Busy in spurts which is unusual for the half price paperback sale day but we did break the $100 ceiling easily. It’s normally more of a steady all day kind of day. Had a couple of small donations come in to process as well.

Friday February 2, 2024

A nice day today with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the upper 40’s. This time of year we always have some wind blowing but today was not too bad.

We had moderate day at the store in terms of sales. But, Pat and I had a big donation to process that took most of the day.

After work I met Joanne, Donna, and Julie at The Cellar. A good time was had by all.

Wednesday January 31, 2024

Mostly cloudy today with temperatures in the upper 30’s. Winds at around 10 mph bringing the wind chill down into the upper 20’s.

A slow day at the store. Lot of folks on the street going to the coffee shop but no much traffic for us. Had several browsers but only a few paying customers. Still, we had a good overall month in sales for a January.

Tuesday January 30, 2024

A fairly nice day today. Partly sunny with temperatures in the upper 30’s and mostly calm winds with a few gusts.

I took advantage of the nice weather outside after I went to the gym and the library. I gathered up leaves that were still in the natural area along theĀ  porch. Then picked up sticks and limbs from the last three wind events. Pruned back some stuff along the fence line and cleaned that up a bit.

This afternoon end/first of the month stuff to do here at my desk.

Monday January 29, 2024

Winds were howling last night with gusts in the 50 mph range. Kept me awake until the wee hours of this morning. Temperature today is in the upper 30’s but we still have 15 to 20 mph wind gusts.

I went to the gym then drove over to Galax, VA. Had to stop at the Verizon store to check on something with my phone. Also, did a big Wal-Mart run to stock up on pantry items, etc.

Changed the sheets this afternoon and did a few things here at my desk.

Saturday January 27, 2024

Sunny this morning. Clouds moved in around noon and the rain started around 3. Temps have held steady all day in the upper 40’s. We are under a flood warning for heavy rain coming in tonight.

A very busy day. Almost made $200.00. Except for a brief lull around midday and late afternoon we were busy all day with customers as well as several small donations to be processed.

Friday January 26, 2024

Almost like spring today with lots of sunshine, highs in the low 60’s, and a slight breeze.

We had a good day at the store. Did not break the $100.00 ceiling but still had a good sales total. Processed a couple of small donations in between customers.

After work I met Anne and Donna at The Cellar for a nice relaxing evening. They had fairly good crowd but not over whelming.

Wednesday January 24, 2024

A warm but messy day with light rain/drizzle, sometimes blowing sideways, all day. Temperatures in the low 50’s and tonight in the upper 40’s. More rain tonight and tomorrow. But, less than an inch fell today so far/

Despite the nasty day we almost broke the $100.00 ceiling with most of the customers coming in this afternoon. We had a six box donation Joyce and I worked on between customers.
