I spent all yesterday afternoon cleaning out mom and dad’s two drawer filing cabinet. I filled up one banker size box with shredding and took it to the car for an empty one.
Frances and Al met the Realtor yesterday afternoon. The home health nurse that was coming at 1:30 had car trouble and had to move all her appointments around. When she to let me know I told her 7pm in the evening would be fine with us. Around 5 I ordered a pizza to be delivered from Pizza Hut.
Otherwise, things went pretty well last night. Dad was up and down a couple of times but can now get up from his chair by himself. After he settled down the second time, around 1am, I went to sleep on the little single bed in the extra room. It adjoins the bathroom dad uses in case I was needed.
This morning we all went back to sleep after dad got up at 5:30. I fixed breakfast then worked more on the paper organization until Al and Frances showed up around 1pm to relieve me.
Dad is much improved to the point where I don’t think they need anyone to stay tonight. Mom needs to stay calm and let dad move around with the walker as he wants to and just keep an eye on him.
