I keep posting “we dodged another bullet” with the weather. I wonder how much longer that will last. This morning dad had an 8:30 doctor appointment. He is applying to Medicare for a scooter. As with everything else in the world, so many people have taken advantage of all those scooter ads/scams that now they are cracking down on who gets one. I told the doctor even for Medicare it should be a no-brainer for a 90 year old man with CHF. The doctor also looked as his stitches to see how things were healing up. He wants them left for 14 days rather than 10 to make sure it has healed up.

Counties just to our north and west had sleet and freezing rain with ice on the trees and roads this morning. It was just windy, cold, and raining when we headed out this morning with the temperature hovering just at 32 degrees. The trees had a light coating of ice and there was a little bit of sleet mixed in with the rain but nothing hazardous.

We finished up at the doctor at 8:45. I made a stop at the bank drive through to cash a check for dad then took him back home and up to the apartment. I was at work by 9:45.

Things have finally eased off a bit at work. I talked with mom’s social worker at lunch time today. She said mom has made a slight improvement since Sunday but we still have a long way to go. By the time I left work it was 38 degrees and not raining nor as windy. I went to the Y. Tomorrow night is another sleep over at dad’s.
