I am reading book #5 in Karen Nortman’s Frannie Shoemaker camping series, To Cache A Killer.

Down to Winston today for my 11:15 appointment with Dr. McKee the oral surgeon for a look at the tooth that flared up last week. Fortunately the antibiotic I started taking last Thursday cleared up the infection and the pain. It turned out not to be the tooth with the crown but the one beside it that has a crack and was causing all the problems. Luckily the crack was not down to the root. He drilled the tooth then put in a temporary filing. No eating on that side of the mouth until I go back for the rest of the work on the tooth.

I was in and out of his office in half an hour with instructions not to eat for an hour and half. Good thing I had the granola bar before I went in. I drove to the house to load up more stuff and back on the road by 1:15. At least by the time I arrived back home most of the numbness had worn off for me to eat some soup.
