Saturday

It has been a busy, productive day. This morning I put all the Christmas decorations away in the downstairs closet. Bob mixed up a sprayer of Roundup for me. Some of the liriope grass is coming back up in the natural area along with some early warm season weeds.

I had Colin out for a good round of tennis ball fetching. It is a very nice day today with temperatures making it into the mid 60’s this afternoon.

I mowed the lawn for a last time clean up, picked up sticks, trimmed back the butterfly bush by the driveway, and swept up the debris in the gutter in front of the house. At some point I will call my lawn mower guy to come out to service the vacuum and mower for spring.

Since we are not doing any observing right now I reorganized our cold weather duffle that we used to store back up clothing.  I pulled out some old lightweight jackets and sweaters I had in there for me. Very often we would leave home with it warm enough for me to be in a t-shirt but I would need a sweater or jacket after the sun went down. I packed a set of sweat pants and shirts for both Bob and I plus the usual hats and gloves and spare boots for me. I carry a similar set in my car even though if bad weather is predicted or has fallen I will drive the Trooper. You never know when you may need a change of clothing for one reason or another.
