Warm and sunny after a partly cloudy start to the day. I decided it was a  good morning for doing some outdoor chores. Several months ago during one of our windy spells a small tree fell over on the cow fence in the back. It just landed on top of the barbed wire but a good portion of it was hanging over into my yard. I cut it off at the fence line so James would not run into it when he starts mowing. And, with all the trees still dormant, I trimmed back some more over hanging limbs along the side property fence line. It’s actually not much of a fence. It’s cow fencing as well and most of it is sagging and rusted. There’s a good 15 feet of natural area from the lawn to the fencing. I try to keep the big limbs and brush cleaned up so at least it looks nice. I now have a pretty good sized brush pile for James to haul off.

In the butterfly garden by the garage the fern like plants that died off and rotted during the winter are now sporting green underneath. I pulled off all the dead foliage and cleaned up the dead leaves.
