Cloudy and windy today with temperatures remaining the low 40’s. Not a great day to do anything outdoors. I did a shift at the bookstore this morning. This afternoon I will do more house prepping to get ready for the Christmas decorating.

Sounds like it’s a bit warmer and less ‘wintery’.

Started my Christmas decorating by putting the fake topiary back on the porch. I turned on the white twinkle lights on them too. I know, the HOA will send me a nastygram…. which is why they spent ALL of this year on the porch, with the lights off. Someone complained about my ‘holiday decorations’ so they get to look at them all year long, only with the lights off….

    I’m such a rebel.

It’s gonna be a bit tough this holiday season, but with friends and family, I’m sure we’ll get through it.

    Be of stout heart,

It’s good to hear you and Colin came through the ice storm OK. It sounds like quite an event – us Southern California folk can’t really imagine such things…

I could just see the smoke from the Camarillo fires, looking like a thunderhead low on the horizon. Here in the high desert there’s nothing to burn.

We are flirting with freezing temps…almost…in the mornings. It should be 65F here today, (with 0.1″ of rain predicted for this evening) I was going to go out and do a bit of painting on the eaves and trim, but maybe I’ll hold off.
