I had a text from Frances this morning at 4:45. Al was back in the emergency room with the stomach issues. She called me around 7:30 to tell me they found a blockage. Drat.
I showered, took care of Colin, ate breakfast, and headed back to Winston. He was still in the ED. Fortunately, this time, it was not as bad as it was five years ago. They were pumping his stomach and giving him fluids. Finally, around 1:15 they had an empty bed on the gastro floor where he was Monday. His surgeon was on call when he showed up at the ED this morning. The plan is to give the stomach time to empty today, rest tonight, and do a procedure tomorrow. Then we will know if he will need surgery.
