We had an early morning storm bringing more wind, bright lightening, and some thunder along with six tenth’s of much needed rain. There are some small limbs down in the back and a couple of big ones in the front.
I am reading a new Charles Todd, An Unmarked Grave. WWI British nurse Bess Crawford gets taken down by the Spanish Flu that has decimated the doctor and nursing staff as well as soldiers at the front in France. Just before she is stricken by the flu she is shown a body by one of the orderly staff that keeps track of the bodies until they can be buried that the man thinks has been murdered rather then injured or felled by the flu. She falls ill before she can tell anyone else about the suspicious body.
After weeks of recovery back in England she learns the man who showed her the body was found the next day having hung himself. Or was he murdered to keep quiet about the body. Bess goes back to France to help the wounded and to learn the truth.
