Another busy day. I arrived at work by 8am, my usual start time is 8:30, since I knew I would have a lot to catch up on after being off last Thursday and Friday. I got as much done as I could before I had to leave at 12:15 to pick up dad.

He had a 1:15 follow up appointment with his doctors he had in the hospital last week. After some initial blood we saw the nurse and doctor. They are seem to be pleased with how things are going. However, they need to do a trough level on his vancomycin thirty minutes before his next dose which would have been 5pm. Instead, they wanted him to come back to the lab for a 5pm blood draw and start his medication at 5:30. They also did not want me to back it up any more but to keep it at the 5:30 time for the rest of the week until it ends on Saturday. That means I can leave work at my usual 5pm, run by the house, and get it going by 5:30.

So, we left the doctors right at 2:00 and stopped at Mayberry’s for dad to eat a late lunch. I had a bowl of ice cream while he ate his soup then back home. At 4:30 I loaded him back up in the car, back up to the doctor in his transport chair where the lab it, took blood, took him back home, started his medicine and came home.

While I was out of town I read the first two books in a new series Bob found for our Kindles by Sarah Shaber, Simon Said and Snipe Hunt. Her character, Simon Shaw is a history professor at a small college in Raleigh, NC. I finished the second one early yesterday afternoon in the car and started another book on the Kindle by Stephen Booth, The Devil’s Edge. This is the next to most recent book in his Ben Cooper series set in the Peak District, England.
