Sunny today but highs only in the low 40’s with 10 to 15 mph winds and gusty.

Just hanging around in the house today trying to stay busy. It’s very lonely without Colin for company and to break up the day.

I have been working on the books downstairs. A lot of them are Bob’s science fiction and/or some mysteries either I don’t read or will not read again.

I’ve been taking the  popular mystery authors to the bookstore. We don’t have a large readership of sci-fi so I’ve been taking the newer ones down to Winston to a store that buys them. Don’t get much for them but at least they are going where someone else may want them.

I batched up another big batch of paperbacks to take to Cares on Monday. I’ve been taking the older stuff to them that I know will not sell in the store.

So, I got that done, did a load of laundry, and shredded some more old paperwork from the file cabinet.

Sunny and cool today with temperatures in the low 50’s and blustery. We had about an inch of rain overnight with some wind. Knocked a lot of the leaves down but we still have some color. The leaves have stayed pretty longer this year than usual.

I went to the gym this morning then made stops at the library and the drugstore. Not much else going on.

I had sunny skies when I left for my drive over to Boone Subaru to get the car’s six month oil change/service. I do not put enough miles on the car to go by mileage so it’s twice a year instead.

Clouds moved in and it was spitting rain when I left the dealership an hour or so later. Off and on spitting showers all the way back to Sparta. Temps in the low 50’s and off and rain showers for the rest of today and tonight.

Several trailer loads of cut Christmas trees passed me heading back to Sparta. We have a major tree supplier here in town that ships the trees out to places all over the US.

Warm and sunny today with highs in the low 70’s.

I drove over to Galax, VA this morning. First a stop a Lowe’s to pick up bird seed and a couple of household supply items then on to Wal-Mart. Shelves were pretty well stocked in the aisles I visited. I needed some non-food items that I could not find at Food Lion.

Heading back to Sparta I drove on into town and did a quick grocery store run to pick up milk, salad stuff, and a few items for the pantry.

Another warm, sunny, breezy day.

I went to the gym this morning, stopped to get gas, and then back home.

James showed up a little after midday to haul off my brush pile. We chatted while for awhile then I left him to finish. It was only one pickup load of stuff so it did not take him very long.

Not much else going on this afternoon.

Lots of sunshine today but chilly with temperatures in the low 30’s this morning and a breeze. It’s warmed up into the low 40’s this afternoon.

I did my volunteer shift at the bookstore today. One of our slowest days with both shoppers and sales in several months. We processed books and I helped Joyce change the window from Halloween to Thanksgiving. We also put out the Christmas craft books.
