A beautiful spring day with lots of sunshine, temps in the low 70’s, and a light breeze.

This morning I tried to do a few light gardening chores. The white quince by the side stoop needed a light trim so it does not get too high and wide for the space. I can hand trim it with the secateurs and put the trimmings in a bucket to keep from having to do a lot bending and stooping.

After I finished with that I took a break to rest my  back then headed back out. I mixed up a batch of Roundup to do between the mulch area along the driveway and the grass and along the borders in front of the porch and in the beds.

That will it for today outside with my back but things are looking pretty good.

Warm, temps in the low 70’s, with mostly sunny skies and calm winds.

I dug up some of the Brown Eyed Susan’s from the clump in the butterfly garden to take to Joyce today at the bookstore. She had mentioned a few weeks ago she would like to have some. Always glad to share plant material as paying forward to those who share with me.

I worked from 10:30 to 3. It was busy with a lot of sales and a few folks just looking. Several customers are glad we open again on Wednesdays.

I am reading The Lost Traveller by Sheila Connolly. (Yes, the title has two ll’s in the title.)

Cloudy, muggy and warm today with a chance of showers. Things were damp this morning so it must have rained over night.

I went to the grocery store this morning. Normally Tuesday mornings are pretty quiet but the place was swarmed this morning. Not sure if was people getting out after the gas shortage or the relaxed restrictions. It was like the day before the forecast of snow. A lot of the stuff I buy was on sale so I picked up some extra. I am still wearing my mask as were a lot of folks. I am thankful they have removed the one way aisles. Make shopping much easier.

Change the sheets this afternoon and did a few other things.

Cloudy today with temperatures in the low 60’s and a chance of rain.

Off to the gym this morning and pick up a prescription at the drug store. The gas station across the road from me had a gas delivery yesterday. Don’t know about the ones in town. I do not go by any of those between here and the gym.

Cloudy, breezy, and mild today. May get a brief off and on showers.

I used the Swifter duster extension pole to go around all the ceilings and corners then I vacuumed, dusted, and cleaned the bathrooms. Towels are washing. I have a few things to work on here at my desk.

Yesterday afternoon I walked around checking things outside while I was watering plants. I made a mental list of the gardening tasks I need to get done hopefully this week if the weather cooperates.

Sunny and pleasant today with a light breeze and temperatures warming into the mid 60’s after another morning with temps back down into the upper 30’s.

The reason I mentioned getting gas the other day is North Carolina has had another pipe line issue. The last one was about five years ago. I always fill up when the tank is half full anyway. Fortunately, I was able to get gas the other morning before all the stations up here ran out. I also keep a five gallon can full for both emergencies and for the generator.

Laundry and other assorted never ending household chores today.

It was 38 degrees this morning when I took Colin about 6:15.  It’s been mostly cloudy today with temps in the low 60’s but mostly calm winds.

I went into town to pick up my library books and go to the bank.

After lunch I put the plants I bought yesterday in the ground and moved another clump of stone crop ground cover to another spot I want it to cover.

I watered the new and transplanted stuff not knowing if we were going to get any rain or not. Forecasters had small chances for this afternoon. About the time I finished and came in we had a brief shower that did not amount to much.

Partly sunny today but still cool. Temps in the upper 50’s and thankfully no wind.

Gym this morning. Got gas and stopped at Scott’s nursery to pick up a couple of perennials for the butterfly garden.

I need to water the hanging plants and do some odds and end chores in the house.

It was cloudy and drizzly with temps in the low 40’s when I left around 10:45 to go to go help Joyce at the bookstore.

About half an hour later looked outside and it was pouring snow. Guess it lasted about 45 minutes then changed back to rain mixed with snow then all rain. It’s partly cloudy now but still only in the mid 40’s. Both the local Ray’s Weather and the Weather Channel missed the snow.

I stayed about three hours working the desk while Joyce did other bookstore stuff. We had a steady stream of customers all day.

Partly cloudy today but not as windy with temps in the low 60’s.

I went to the gym and drugstore this morning. Ran into a couple of people I have not seen in year or more at both places.

Need to water the plants this afternoon. It may or may not rain over night. I made a batch of rice for stir fry for tonight.
